The opening of this film shows three young girls playing on the floor with a
tea set and dolls. They are all looking happy and are dressed in old
fashioned dresses. This whole scene is in sow motion creating an unusual
atmosphere. The mood of the scene changes as all of the girls look to their
left and begin to stand up dropping their toys they were holding. The all
walk at the same pace toward the large window with expressionless looks
on their faces. They each open one window and jump out at the same
time. The camera zooms from the window slowly to reveal a dark figure
stood in the doorway.

The characters shown in this scene are three young girls (aged around 6) the
mis en scene of this shows the time the film was based by them wearing
old fashion dresses and sensible black lace up boots, showing the
archetypal stereotype of a girl of that age in the time the film was set in.
each one of the girls hair is pinned back neatly with bows showing
connotations of sweet and innocent girls. The location the girls are shown
in is a play room/bedroom which shows the girls being surrounded by a
comfortable and lived in area with toys that suite the age group of the
