This document discusses the Local by Social initiative which uses social networking to promote collaboration and sharing of knowledge between local councils. It highlights how over 1,100 people and 190 councils have participated online, sharing learning through 27,000 page views and 1,123 contributions. The initiative aims to tackle common issues, support local learning, and develop a central Knowledge Hub extranet to further enable councils to securely share information and knowledge. A beta launch of the Knowledge Hub is planned for March/April 2011.
