in helping to explore using the glasses within the
context of the public speaking assignments.
We would like to evaluate the glasses for use as
a speaking aid, similar to notecards or a
teleprompter.
We plan to have each of the students give two
versions of a speech, one with glasses, and
one without glasses, to determine whether the
glasses will improve their performance based on
our standard rubric.”

The google glass are planning to be used in the bubbling
bed research. The shape of the bubble needs to be recorded
during the experiment. Google glass can potentially
provide multiangle image, which is complementary data of
the existing high speed camera.”

floppy disks, circuit boards, aVCR and
other electronics.
Then attached the book to a
makey makey and used graphite
(and myself) as a conductor which
allows you to run/control any program
on your computer.
You will see me playing Tetris simply
from using the ‘keypad’ I drew on the
paper. As you can see, the library has
inspired me on so many levels”

46. Technical Lessons Learned
1. Microtiles are not as portable as we had hoped (semi-permanent installations are best)
2. Physical security for many of the devices is important, such as keeping digital globe safe overnight at
an information fair
3. It is important to communicate appropriate lead and dismantling time to folks booking the equipment
4. Not all of the gear is plug and play and users may require quick training, such as the document
camera usually requires a 5 minute crash course for each new user
5. The equipment pool coordinators require regular training on the cutting edge equipment
6. Webcams are great, but if we could do it over again, it would be nice to have them permanently
installed in the meeting rooms, as they are handy for things like Skype
7. Keep a positive relationship with vendors, there is a regular requirements for parts and updates.
