Lisa Mims is a 5th grade teacher who has been using Voki, an avatar creation tool, in her classroom for a few months. She got interested in Voki after seeing another teacher use it for communicating with pen pals. Her goals in using Voki are to engage students, foster a love of learning, and integrate technology to promote critical thinking. Some of the ways she uses Voki include communicating with pen pals, giving directions, and having students create projects like a student's African American history presentation on Oprah Winfrey that received positive feedback. Lisa enjoys how simple Voki is to use and the endless possibilities, and has not discovered any tricks yet.
