2. Colours
Feathers & Body Beak
I have chose these colours to create variety
within the mask. As birds are typically very
bright animals due to their multitude of
feathers. I have found that the main colours
of Zazu are the orange and yellow of his
beak and then blue and white of his
feathers, I would like to expand on these
colours to create a more elaborate mask,
given that it is a stage performance and the
mask will need to stand out on stage.
3. Existing Zazu Costumes

Although both costumes are for the same character neither of them cover the face as
a mask. One portrays the character through a puppet and face paint, whilst the other
uses a headdress of feathers with a peak to represent a beak. Although the puppet
works I would like to create my mask more like the headdress but with the element of
the beak being more present in my design.
