Editor's Notes
Started presentation with a list of statistics like 3 Billion Users on LinkedIn, 10 Billion Total Endorsements, 40 Million College Students are on LinkedIn.
But I wanted to simply bring it back to opening doors to opportunity. There are countless examples of Networking in the traditional sense and across social media creating expanding opportunities for internships, careers, speaking engagements, articles, you name it.
We’ll cover how do you build your brand, your presence on social, translating your resume to LinkedIn, and once your profile is created how to do you connect to employers for internships, jobs, and network with peers, colleagues, and people you’ve never met.

At it’s heart, LinkedIn is a social media network and career tool that allows you to tell your story.. when I say story, I simply mean your messaging. What are you telling others about you? Your goals? Your skills? Your strengths?
93% of Hiring Managers Search LinkedIn
65% Search Facebook
55% Search Twitter
We’re going to look at this from a practical perspective. What can you tell me about the person on the left and the person on the right
Which Person would you Hire?
Which Person would you connect with?
Tricky Part: Each Profile is Unique No set guidelines - best practice
Someone equated Linked In to Speed Dating for Professionals
Recent Study: Hiring Manager, you have 6 seconds to make an impression
What Do you Need to focus on? Profile, Your Summary, Your Headline
No standardized approach to a linked in profile - highlighting best practices
if it doesn't align with your story don't include it
