2. How To Write A Story Of The Story
When she arrived at his apartment, it looked like a Christmas explosion, and Gwen
tried not to laugh. Gwaine had strung Christmas lights across his ceiling, covering
every inch, and they pulsed to the cheerful melody of Jingle Bell Rock pouring out of
his speakers. He wore a black sweater with a huge white snowflake in the middle and a
pair of felt deer antlers on his head. On the counter stood several bowls filled with
dough. Gwen sniffed. Is that chocolate and cinnamon? With a grin, he waved her into
the kitchen area. You bet it is. And vanilla. Plus allspice, clove, and nutmeg for the
mulled cider as a little nod to Yule. This is so sweet. We re making fudge, too, so it s
super sweet. Gwen tossed on an apron and joined... Show more content on

When Gwen grew chilly, Gwaine wrapped her in a fleece blanket. I hate to cover up
such beauty, but you re shivering. He glanced at the wall clock. It s midnight. Time
for presents. Gwaine, she drawled. You ve done too much already. I hope you didn t
spend a lot. He opened the door to his storage closet and brought out a bag that
contained several wrapped gifts. Gwen handed over the small bag of gifts for him,
and she grew nervous, hoping he d enjoy the presents, and that he was not about to
give her anything extravagant. They sat down on the floor and tore open their gifts.
Gwaine loved the French press, the five pound bag of his favorite organic coffee that
he rarely splurged on, and the mug that read: Eat, Sleep, Breathe Social Work. He
laughed when he tore open one package and discovered a gross of pens. He often
complained that as a social work major, he needed pens constantly, and they often went
missing. This is perfect, Gwen. Thank you. It didn t seem like enough, though, even
though his bright smile said otherwise. Gwaine gave her a new pizza stone, a Tibetan
singing bowl resting on a beautiful patchwork pillow, and a tree of life choker
necklace. The tree charm in the center made of tiny black and red gemstone beads. This
is gorgeous. Gwen examined the piece of jewelry. Here, let me help you put it on. He

3. Themes In The Short Story The Tunnel
Coming of age stories often include purpose and a way to deliver the message. Settings,
selection of details, and symbolisms have a very influential gravity to them. These show
common similarities of relationships between characters. Often times in stories like these
upcoming examples are ones that have truth and moral behind them. Protagonists don t
see these blatant themes and go unnoticed, but valuable lessons are taught, transforming
children into adults.
In the short story The Tunnel , the author is relating Jerry grows apart from his mom and
gaining independence. This analysis of the setting is shown through him swimming away
from his mother. The symbolism would be Jerry is his mother as a tiny yellow dot . It s

The Bass, The River, and Shelia Mant, is a story conveying the idea of the path to quite
literal manhood by asking a woman out. This girl was older than he was but he was
determined to at least attempt at a date. She agrees to go out to the town, and offers
him a ride there which is embarrassing for him, but his pride is in the way and decides
to travel by canoe. While they are discussing, she starts talking about fishing and how
it is dumb . Conveniently, shortly after she says this, the rod, which he mindlessly tied
to his boat, is drawing attention of the fish. As, painstaking as it is to have a beautiful
girl critique what loved, an enormous bass is starting to bite. Her words are muted and
he is engulfed by the creature. While all this was going on, Sheila had begun talking,
and it was a few minutes before I was able to catch up with her train of thought.
Showing no attention, he is oblivious to what is happening and his priorities are
completely out of nature. They get into town after a long while and the rest of the
night, he can t help himself but ponder on what could have gone differently if he didn t
let the bass go. There would be other Sheila Mants in my life, other fish, and though I
came close once or twice, it was these secret, hidden tuggings in the night that claimed
me, and I never made the same mistake again. A very summarizing sentence concludes
the perspective of the narrator. As a reader might expect him to be
4. To Kill A Mockingbird Racism Analysis
The great divide town
1930 Maycomb, Alabama; racism was a real problem. In To Kill A Mockingbird we
see a lot of racism. Since Maycomb is such a small and dry southern town it seems like
everywhere you turn racism is knocking on your door. Scout, Jem, Dill, Calpurnia,
Dolphus Raymond, and Mr.Tom Robinson all experience quite harsh acts of racism.
Scout Jem and Dill all have very innocent views of racism as the novel begins, but as
they mature and grow older they begin to see the harsh reality of racism in Maycomb
County. In the novel Scout will see how racism affects every little thing. One day
Calpurnia decides to take the two children to church. While they are there scout realizes
that Calpurnia talks different than she does at home with them. As they return home,
Scout asks Calpurnia about why she talks differently at a her church than at home.
Calpurnia tries to explain and then Scout says but Cal, you know better . I think this is
a major point at which scout realizes how much racism affects every little thing. After
this Scout understands that even though Calpurnia knew better she had to act like she
didn t, because she would get made fun of if she didn t. Jem, has a little more
understanding about racism. Scout makes a comment about that if we came out in the
Old Testament it s too long ago to matter . That s what i thought ,said jem, but around
here once you have a drop of Negro blood that makes you all black. Jem says this when
they are trying to explain to

What really happened that day Grandad?
The grey sky hung close to 16 year old Ed and the other soldiers as they stood, lined up
in the trench. Rain poured heavily over their helmets, draining into the mud. The French
sun hid hazily in the smog covered sky. THUD THUD THUD, cannons pounded shells

Moonlight flooded into the trench as the patrol officers found Ed curled up in a ball,

6. Blake s Style Of The Idyyger And The Tyger By William Blake
William Blake, a revolutionary writer of his era, illustrates the differences between the
innocent, kind, and ignorant childhood, to the corrupt, dark, and gothic adulthood that
follows. Many of his pieces such as the The Tyger , The Lamb , are all written in Blake
s style that convey many different messages than how the story was written. Each
specific line in these misunderstood poems convey meanings that show the other side
of the world, the side thats gloomy, dark, and corrupt. In his poems, Blake evaluates
two totally different perspectives in the world and how people who view the world in
one of these perspectives live. But the truly outstanding fact about Blake s style is the
fact that he does not favor a perspective, he criticizes... Show more content on

A time in his life where he vehemently complained about the Church, and any cultural
traditions that included racism, sex, and other habits. Blake revolt against these ideals
was due to the fact that he believed that passion and imagination can be limited by these
things. On the other hand, Songs of Innocence always believed that no matter what,
God was always by your side whenever a person truly needed him. Idyllic poems of this
nature tend to have a specific theme overall, they are positive, optimistic, and very happy
when a reader begins to analyze the poetry. The poem The Tygeris often compared to his
other work that contradict each other, The Lamb . The logic behind this poem is that the
almighty creator creates animals that are cute, soft, and gentle. This in every way,
goes against The Tyger when God is said to create a vicious and cruel animal such as a
tiger. Just as The Little Boy Found , another piece by Blake, a sense of happiness and
comfort is felt when reading this poem, this was also not present when reading The
Tyger . Blake was known to be a great artist. Throughout his poems, he would add
illustrations for tigers, and lambs that can shift the true meaning of the poem. In The
Tyger , the tiger was illustrated in a way that made this ferocious animal seem
harmless. As we know tigers, they are able to kill anyone they lay their hands on. As
for most people in the radical era, tiger sighting was a rare scene. His use of imagery
forces people into imagining an animal that is deadly, ferocious and nothing like the
illustrations
7. The Problem With Mental Toughness Essay
Mental toughness is not a new concept in sport, but is generally misunderstood. Coaches
design programmes to develop mentally tough athletes, predominately in professional
sport, to separate elite performers from good performers (Gould, Jackson, Finch, 1993) as
physical talent itself is not the only component that can lead an athlete to success
(Gucciardi, Gordon, Dimmock, 2008).
The main problems with mental toughness are the inconsistency of its definition, and a
lack of research into clearly defining mental toughness and what attributes are required to
be mentally tough (Jones et al, 2002). The earliest definition of mental toughness was
provided by Cattell (1957), suggesting mental toughness was an important personality
trait, supported by Kroll (1967). Loehr (1982, 1986, 1994) attempted to define mental
toughness, suggesting mental toughness is the ability to use energy positively during
crises and the possession of positive attitudes towards challenging and demanding
situations , although this definition lacked scientific definition regarding positive
attitudes (Crust, 2007).
Jones et al. (2002, 2007) has contributed to the understanding of mental toughness and its
definition. Utilising qualitative methods to interview 10 elite athletes in a three stage
process, consisting of a focus group, interviews, and a rank order task. The focus group
consisted of three athletes with the goal to define what mental toughness is and identify
attributes of what they believed

9. Clothing And Make-Up In Edward Scissorhands
Edward Scissorhands, directed by Tim Burton is a story about a monster (or outsider)
who enters into the so called peaceful neighbourhood and disturbs the calm. the message
of isolation and alienation is shown through the colour, costume/makeup and setting that
are used through the film.
The costume and make up in Edward Scissorhands is used generate feeling and emotions
in the audience. There are major differences in what Edward wears and looks like and
what the humans wear and look like. The costumes guide the audience in to thinking
what kind of characters the people are and will turn out to be like. The town s people
are dressed in a typical 1950 s style. This makes them look very simplistic in their
ways, on the outside. The women s clothes are very bright and overly colourful. The
colours used generate the view that the townspeople are all very normal, and
everything appears to be alright on the outside. The make up on the women accents
and highlights their look. The houses are also very bright and false looking, almost
like doll houses. Edward, in contrast, is dressed in dark clothes. The make up used on
him makes his skin look very pale, very ghostly and pasty. His clothes are ... Show more

The first time colour is used is when the grandma is telling the story of Edward
Scissorhands to the little girl in the oversized bed. Visually, this scene is reminiscent of
fairy tales and is another means used by Burton to indicate the purpose of his story. The
two worlds are contrasted visually by the use of colour, the kitsch pastel colours and
uniform shapes of the suburban houses differing completely from the black and white of
the derelict castle. The suburban world is apparently perfect with its cloudless blue sky,
spotless houses, well kept gardens and stereotypical inhabitants who are contrasted with
the imperfection of the unfinished Edward
10. Menorrhagia Research Paper
Endometriosis and Menorrhagia
Endometriosis is defined as a common disorder in which the endometrial tissue is found
outside of the uterus. Menorrhagia is defined as excessive menstrual bleeding or duration
of the menstrual period. (deWitt, 2017)
Etiology
Endometrial cells that shed during menstruation are transported through the fallopian
tubes and enter the pelvis, attaching to pelvic structures. Cells can travel outside the
pelvis through the lymphatic and blood vessels, during menstruation this tissue responds
to hormonal changes and bleeding which can cause inflammation to the surrounding
tissue. Inflammation can lead to fibrosis, and fibrosis leads to adhesions that can be
painful. (docucare, 2017) Menorrhagia can occur with endometriosis because of the
hormone build up caused by the thicken of the uterine wall. (Mayo Clinic 2017)

11. Assessment Of The Health System
Assessment of the Health System in the Philippines : an analysis of Out of Pocket
Expenditure INTRODUCTION The World Health Organization s (WHO) Commission
on Macroeconomics and Health stated that the wisdom of every culture teaches that
health is wealth (p21). In fact, developing a strong health system has emerged as a
priority for many countries. Furthermore, understanding the major components of the
health system, and identifying main constraints, are two crucial steps in attaining key
health outcomes. This paper discusses the health system of the Philippines using the
WHO s Building Blocks. The Philippines is a group of islands located in Southeast
Asia with a total population of 96 million. The Life expectancy of male is 69 and female
is 72 years, with significant variations between regions. The leading causes of deaths
include communicable diseases such as pneumonia and tuberculosis, and non
communicable diseases like heart conditions. The total expenditure on health per capita
is US$ 202 while the gross domestic product (GDP) is US$ 159.3 billion. (Romualdez,
2011). The country s health reforms have had some success, notably a reduction in
maternal and child mortality. Nevertheless, the country continues to register poor health
status, and registers significantly high out of pocket (OOP) health expenditures. We
examine OPP spending as one of the main health issues in the country. This paper is
organized in five major sections. In the first section, we

The US has recently adopted a healthcare policy aimed to get more Americans insured.
This policy is named the Affordable Care Act in 2010. In 2013 there were 42 million
uninsured individuals in the United States. (The Common, pg. 153) There has since
been increase in individuals who are covered either by private insurance or by Medicaid

of people will now have health insurance compared to previous years.
Retired individuals in the U.S. are eligible to receive benefits through Medicaid at the
age of 65. Some individuals choose to have supplemental insurance along with Medicaid,

The inventions and achievements of the Muslim Empire were very successful. They
came up with the marching band, algebra, coffee, chess, and many more, including the
Camera. Ibn al Haytham invented the Pinhole camera in the early 1000s after realizing
the way the light came through the shutters on a window. The inventionof the camera is
important since it is used everyday to capture moments, to communicate with others, and
for education.
Have you ever thought about what life would be like without cameras? Just in the year
of 2015 there was 880 billion pictures taken. Cameras have changed our society and the
way that people live, especially photographers. Photographers whole life is the camera,

14. My Love For History As A Pre Service Teacher
History is a subject that is at the bottom of the scale of boring according to most
students and some teachers. Uninteresting, no understanding as to why we learn about
dead people, and how useless it is. These are the words we hear from past, present and
some future students. In contrast the few students that actually find history quite
interesting are the ones history teachers live for. As a pre service teacher I plan to
show that I value the richness and viability in history, the profound affect history has
on us today, bringing different authors/artists to uphold richness and viability. This
will be aimed at my students who believe that there is no point to learn about History
and build on the students that find it interesting. My love for history first begins my
freshman year of high school. While listening to the lecture I started to understand
how rich and viable our history is. It was awesome to see all of the events of the past
still alive in our society today. I can remember thinking to myself everything in this
textbook and the content my teacher was covering helped grow as well as shape the
United States, and even the World. However, most of my classmates did not think this
was the case they thought this was the most boring part of the day. They didn t see the
richness in what we were learning, sadly most of society doesn t. In fact some people
don t know who the first President of the United States was or if the U.S has 50 or 51
states. As pre service
15. A Study On The Twi Program
The TWI program was for 8 hours a day for 200 days, while comparison classrooms
operated 6 hours a day for 180 days. Teachers did not differ significantly in their
backgrounds or training, although TWI teachers were more likely to have a Master s
degree (30% to 6% and be bilingual (50% to 25%). The TWI program had a week of
English by teacher and assistant, and a week of Spanish by a Spanish teacher and
assistant, with both sets collaborating to plan curricula and assessment. The major
challenge of the study was that it was difficult to ensure that literacy tests in English and
Spanish were entirely comparable. Also, some of the tests used were experimental and
turned out to be too difficult for most children, including in post test. Neither program
was pure immersion because the children were given languagesupport on the side.
The results were positive and showed advancement for all children, with Spanish
language children in TWI benefiting the most in comparison to their peers in the EI
group. Specifically, the Spanish language children improved in their receptive
vocabulary , with effect sizes of over half a deviation. TWI s effect of producing greater
gains in receptive language than in expressive was considered by the authors to be one of
the most significant findings of the study, and it was thought that further research could
determine how to extend these benefits to expressive language. Three out of four of the
measures favored English language outcomes in TWI,

The earliest Emperor of the Qin dynasty was Qin Shi Huang, who was born in 259BCE

achievements, he attained this in a brutal and callous way. Arguments that will be clearly

strategies and the prohibiting and burning of Confucius teachings.
Qin Shi Huang was feared by his subjects as he was seen as a barbaric and ruthless
autocrat who took extreme measures to preclude rebellion in his empire, mostly by
enforcing severe punishments for criminals. (Source 1) The penalty for major crime

risks and dangers encountered when entering the unconscious mind. This movie takes a
look at these through the life of Carl Jung who was one of the founding fathers of

Jung and Dr. Feud start having a father son relationship. Dr. Feud hopes that Dr. Jung
will be his successor but a deep rift develops when Dr. Jung moves away from Dr. Feud
s belief that even though psychoanalysis can reveal the cause of psychological problems,
it cannot cure a patient. He was also willing to go beyond Freud s concept psychic
determinism and sexuality, and bring ideas that include religion, premonitions,
supernatural, and telepathy.
This movie brings out some interesting facts about psychoanalysis. Doctors in this field
are different from others because they attempt to have rationale on the irrationality of
emotions. The main aim is to analyze why behaviors deviate from the normal norm. This
film shows a main idea of clinical psychology. People can go through profound amount of
suffering which from outside sources or self imposed. This movie successfully brings out
the depth of emotional suffering that one can go through and brings out therapy in action.
Cronenberg brings out the extent of sufferings that a patient goes through. Sabina s
behavior is seen moving from relative calmness into a violent behavior. Her eyes are
seen poping out of her head, her limbs convulse, and her jaw spasms in a non human way.
Her mind tortures her in a way that this manifests physically. Dr. Jung uses his treatment
talking cure to help Sabina find out the source of her hysteria. This treatment helps her
answer the question why her mind is torturing

This is continued even when Radio Raheem was being killed by the police. The police

and their stakeholders. This implementation comes with state led systems trainings.
Company A sits on many of the work shop groups and calls to provide input into the

is a good way to encourage an employee to enhance specific skills, broaden their
horizons, and to challenge their initiative. It actually becomes their responsibility to
follow through and ensure timely completion of their goals. It also allows them the
freedom to choose what they want. A great leader will have a conversation about their
weaknesses and offer recommended trainings whereas a fair leader may not. But, in the

of West Berlin. To add on he also says I know of no town, no city, that has been besieged
for 18 years that still lives with the vitality and the force, and the hope and the
