LIGHT PAINTING

2. ORIGINAL IMAGES USED
We used a shutter speed of 8
seconds to capture these images

4. HOW IT WAS CREATED
First I Used adjustments
Brightness and contrast to
make the picture Darker
leaving only the lights and
outline of Becky. (mostly)

5. I then messed around with other adjustments such as Colour balance and hue and
saturation until I got to the right colours I wanted.

7. I then created a layer from the background and used the polygonal lasso
tool to roughly select only the outline of Becky and the lights, I then
copied and pasted into an empty document and moved on to the other
pictures layered behind

9. After opening my new image I adjusted the brightness and contrast to the
very highest creating a glowing alien like effect

10. Although I’m sure there are probably easier or other ways to do this I used the
hue/saturation to get to the purple colour/

11. I then used the polygonal lasso tool to cut out each side and copied and pasted them behind
the cut out of Becky and the lights and then used Image > Free transform to rotate and re size
each side and placed them on top and underneath the picture to create a butterfly like image.

14. First I duplicated the layer and used Free Transform (Ctrl + T)
to Reverse the image and then I used the layer options on the
Duplicated layer and set it to darken

15. I then cropped the image
And felt that it was
Effective enough as it was
