   Li-Fi is the transmission of data through
    illumination by taking the fiber out of fiber
    optics by sending data through a LED light bulb.
   This varies in intensity faster than Human Eye
    can follow.
   It is the fast and cheap wireless
    communication system which is optical version
    of the Wi-Fi.
Its Working is much simply explained as
    follows:
   If the LED is on, the digital 1 is transmitted.
   And if it is off, the digital 0 is transmitted.
   It is possible to encode data in the light by
    varying the rate at which the LEDs flicker on
    and off to give different strings of 1s and0s.
Li-Fi product consists of 4 primary sub-
  assemblies:
 Bulb
 RF power amplifier circuit (PA)
 Printed Circuit Board (PCB)
 Enclosure
    The PCB controls the electric inputs and
    outputs of the lamp and houses the
    microcontroller used to manage different lamp
    functions.
    An RF (radio-frequency) signal is generated by
    the solid-state PA and is guided into an electric
    field about the bulb.
    The high concentration of energy in the electric
    field vaporizes the contents of the bulb to a
    plasma state at the bulb’s center; this
    controlled plasma generates an intense source
    of light.
    All of these sub-assemblies are contained in
    an aluminium enclosure.
   Li-Fi is a term of one used to describe visible
    light communication technology applied to high
    speed wireless communication.
   It acquires this name due to the similarity to Wi-
    Fi, only using light instead of radio.
   Wi-Fi is great for general wireless
    coverage within buildings, and Li-Fi is
    ideal for high density wireless data
    coverage in confined area and for
    relieving radio interference issues, so the
    two technologies can be considered
    complimentary.

   Li-Fi technology is based on LEDs for the
    transfer of data.
   The transfer of the data can be with the help of
    all kind of light i.e Light may be Invisible,
    Ultraviolet or Visible part of spectrum.
   The speed of the internet is incredibly high and
    the user everything in just a few minutes.
Some of the applications of Li-Fi are given
    below:
   Medical field
   Airlines
   Power plant
   Military operations
   Under sea water
   Used for modern medical instruments.
   Used in petroleum or chemical plants where
    other transmission or frequencies could be
    hazardous.
   Thousands and millons of street lamps can be
    transferred to Li-Fi lamps to transfer data.
    It is possible to achieve more than 10Gbps,
    theoretically allowing a high-definition film to be
    downloaded in 30sec.
   Mostly powered by LEDs so it is cost efficient.
   Transmission of data is fast and easy.
   The concept of Li-Fi is currently attracting
    a great deal of interest, not least because
    it may offer a genuine and efficient
    alternative to radio-based wireless.
   As a growing number of people and their
    devices access wireless internet, the air
    waves are becoming increasingly clogged,
    making it more and more difficult to get a
    reliable, high-speed signal.

Li-Fi

  • 1. Li-Fi is the transmission of data through illumination by taking the fiber out of fiber optics by sending data through a LED light bulb.  This varies in intensity faster than Human Eye can follow.  It is the fast and cheap wireless communication system which is optical version of the Wi-Fi.
  • 2. Its Working is much simply explained as follows:  If the LED is on, the digital 1 is transmitted.  And if it is off, the digital 0 is transmitted.  It is possible to encode data in the light by varying the rate at which the LEDs flicker on and off to give different strings of 1s and0s.

  • 4. Li-Fi product consists of 4 primary sub- assemblies:  Bulb  RF power amplifier circuit (PA)  Printed Circuit Board (PCB)  Enclosure
  • 5. The PCB controls the electric inputs and outputs of the lamp and houses the microcontroller used to manage different lamp functions.  An RF (radio-frequency) signal is generated by the solid-state PA and is guided into an electric field about the bulb.
  • 6. The high concentration of energy in the electric field vaporizes the contents of the bulb to a plasma state at the bulb’s center; this controlled plasma generates an intense source of light.  All of these sub-assemblies are contained in an aluminium enclosure.

  • 8. Li-Fi is a term of one used to describe visible light communication technology applied to high speed wireless communication.  It acquires this name due to the similarity to Wi- Fi, only using light instead of radio.
  • 9. Wi-Fi is great for general wireless coverage within buildings, and Li-Fi is ideal for high density wireless data coverage in confined area and for relieving radio interference issues, so the two technologies can be considered complimentary.

  • 12. Li-Fi technology is based on LEDs for the transfer of data.  The transfer of the data can be with the help of all kind of light i.e Light may be Invisible, Ultraviolet or Visible part of spectrum.  The speed of the internet is incredibly high and the user everything in just a few minutes.

  • 15. Used for modern medical instruments.  Used in petroleum or chemical plants where other transmission or frequencies could be hazardous.  Thousands and millons of street lamps can be transferred to Li-Fi lamps to transfer data.
  • 16. It is possible to achieve more than 10Gbps, theoretically allowing a high-definition film to be downloaded in 30sec.  Mostly powered by LEDs so it is cost efficient.  Transmission of data is fast and easy.

The concept of Li-Fi is currently attracting a great deal of interest, not least because it may offer a genuine and efficient alternative to radio-based wireless.  As a growing number of people and their devices access wireless internet, the air waves are becoming increasingly clogged, making it more and more difficult to get a reliable, high-speed signal.
