SPECTRUM:
SPEED
Li-Fi can transmit at speeds ten times
faster than Wi-Fi.
ENERGY EFFIENCY
Li-Fi uses less energy than Wi-Fi,
translating to lower operating costs.
SPECTRUM
Li-Fi uses the unlicensed visible light
spectrum, which is less crowded than the
radio frequency spectrum Wi-Fi uses.
INTERFERENCE
Li-Fi isn't affected by radio interference,
making it more secure.

COMMUNICATION ?
Abstract
Li-Fi, short for "Light Fidelity," is an innovative wireless
communication technology that utilizes visible light as a medium to
transmit data. Unlike traditional radio frequency-based
technologies like Wi-Fi, Li-Fi employs light- emitting diodes (LEDs)
to enable high-speed data transfer. This technology has gained
significant attention due to its potential to revolutionize the way
we connect to the internet and other networks.
What is Li-Fi Technology?
Light Fidelity
Li-Fi is a technology that uses light
waves to transmit data over the air,
rather than radio frequencies such as
Wi-Fi.
Fast and Secure
Li-Fi can provide data transfer speeds of
up to 224 Gbps, which is about 100
times faster than Wi-Fi, while also being
more secure.
Adaptable
Li-Fi can be used in many different
applications, including healthcare,
aviation, retail, and industrial settings.
Limitations
Li-Fi requires a clear line of sight
between the transmitter and receiver, so
it cannot pass through walls or
obstacles. It also relies on a constant
source of light, making it unsuitable for
outdoor use.
VISIBLE LIGHT COMMUNICATION
PRINCIPLE OF LI-FI TECHNOLOGY
Heart of Li-Fi technology is high brightness LED's. The LED Gulf will hold
a micro-chip that will do the job of processing the data. The on-off
activity of LEDs enables a kind of data transmission using binary codes.
Switching on an LED Is a logical ’1’ switching it off is a logical ‘0’
Light flickering usually above 50 to 60 times per second which gives
signal as 0’s and 1’s.
A light sensitive device(photo detector) receives the signal and converts
it back into original data.
Construction and Working of Li-Fi Technology
Router
A router can be used to control the flow of data between multiple Li-Fi
connections in a network.
LED Bulbs
Li-Fi works by modulating the light emitted from an LED bulb to transmit
data. The emitted light is picked up by a receiver connected to the user's
device.
Receiver
The receiver in a Li-Fi system is designed to detect the data-carrying light
signal and convert it into usable data for the user's device.
Transceiver
The transceiver in a Li-Fi system is responsible both for emitting and
receiving light signals.

FI
Advantages of Li-Fi Technology

Li-Fi can transfer data at
incredibly fast speeds, reducing
bottlenecks and improving
efficiency in organizations.
2 Security
Li-Fi is more secure than Wi-Fi
because it is difficult to intercept
its signal, which makes it ideal
for organizations that deal with
sensitive information.
3 No Electromagnetic
Interference
Li-Fi does not produce any
electromagnetic interference,
which makes it ideal for use in
environments that require high
precision.
Disadvantages of Li-Fi Technology
1 Requires Line of Sight
Li-Fi requires a clear line of sight between the
transmitter and receiver, which limits its range and
makes it difficult to use in certain settings.

Can't Be Used Outdoors
Li-Fi requires a constant source of light to transmit
data, so it can't be used outdoors where sunlight
can interfere with its signal. 3 Cost
Li-Fi is more expensive than Wi-Fi because it
requires specialized equipment, such as LED lights
that can transmit data.
Current Applications of Li-Fi Technology
Military and Defense
Li-Fi is being used to create secure
communications channels for military and defense
organizations, where security is critical.
Healthcare
Li-Fi is being used in hospitals to transmit data
between medical devices and to provide internet
access to patients without interfering with medical
equipment.
Retail
Li-Fi is being used in retail stores to provide real-
time inventory tracking and accurate location
tracking in large stores.
Industrial Automation
Li-Fi is being used in manufacturing to improve
safety and productivity by providing wireless
communication between machines and equipment.
Future Potential of Li-Fi Technology
Smart Lighting
Li-Fi can be integrated into smart
lighting systems to provide internet
access and data transfer capabilities
using existing infrastructure.
Autonomous Vehicles
Li-Fi can be used in autonomous
vehicles to transmit data from sensors
and cameras, improving safety and
efficiency on the road.
LI-FI could be used in space
technology, where traditional
radio waves are absorbed by
the Earth's atmosphere, but
light can still travel over long
distances.
Satellite Communication
Conclusion
Li-Fi technology has the potential to revolutionize wireless communication,
offering faster speeds, greater security, and new possibilities for a wide
range of applications.Currently South Korea and Dubai are the first place
where Li-Fi is being tested on a large scale. If this technology can be put
put into practical use, every bulb can be used something like a Wi-Fi
hotspots to transmit wireless data.. However, its main limitation is the need
need for a direct line-of-sight between the light source (LED) and the Li-Fi
Li-Fi receiver.
Despite this, ongoing research and
technological advancements are addressing these challenges, and Li-Fi
Fi holds promise for the future of high-speed, secure, and efficient data
data transmission through light waves.

Adaptable Li-Fi can be used in many different applications, including healthcare, aviation, retail, and industrial settings. Limitations Li-Fi requires a clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver, so it cannot pass through walls or obstacles. It also relies on a constant source of light, making it unsuitable for outdoor use.

Switching on an LED Is a logical ’1’ switching it off is a logical ‘0’ Light flickering usually above 50 to 60 times per second which gives signal as 0’s and 1’s. A light sensitive device(photo detector) receives the signal and converts it back into original data.

Transceiver The transceiver in a Li-Fi system is responsible both for emitting and receiving light signals.

If this technology can be put put into practical use, every bulb can be used something like a Wi-Fi hotspots to transmit wireless data.. However, its main limitation is the need need for a direct line-of-sight between the light source (LED) and the Li-Fi Li-Fi receiver. Despite this, ongoing research and technological advancements are addressing these challenges, and Li-Fi Fi holds promise for the future of high-speed, secure, and efficient data data transmission through light waves.
