Enterprise Agreement is a contract document from Microsoft for organizations with more than 500 users or devices.
Enterprise Agreement (EA) has a fixed term of three years. This three-years term gives businesses flexibility with cloud services and software licenses. All under one agreement.
At the renewal of your Enterprise Agreement, you can make contract adjustments to ensure that your new agreement aligns with your current and future needs.
It is also at this renewal stage that when well negotiated, aided with the right documents and skills, you can ask for a discounts going forward. The renewal of your agreement allows for discussions into what your now and future IT infrastructure projections are and with the right knowledge, negotiation can go well. There is also the Enterprise Agreement Subscription (EAS) which allows users to subscribe to the rights to use, rather than own the Microsoft products and services.
The Enterprise Agreement offers a spread payment option instead of a one-time up-front payment.

Microsoft EA True-Up is an annual process for aligning your EA with whatever licenses you may have added or removed in the previous 12 months.
In an EAS contract, the client can adjust licenses for both cloud services and software downwards annually.
True Up also allows you disclose which of your initial license are in active use or not be it software products and cloud services.
Price changes by Microsoft during your contract term do not affect the products and services already included in the EA agreement.
