Li-Fi is a wireless communication technology similar to Wi-Fi that uses visible light communication to transmit data. It has advantages over Wi-Fi like being much faster, not interfering with sensitive electronics, and not transmitting through walls. However, there are still challenges to widespread adoption like the inability of most mobile phones to transmit data, disruption from external light sources, lack of standardization, and the need for associated technologies to develop.
