All letters are classified as
sales letter because no matter
what the purpose is, you still

13. Heading:
The heading of the letter tells
the source of the letter and the
date it was written. It also
furnishes the addressee of the
contact information of the letter-
sender especially if the letter
merits a response.
14. Inside Address:
This part contains pertinent
information regarding the addressee.
This includes the name, title, and
position.
Example: Dr. Stephen F. Caldez

Tuguegarao Colleges Foundation
Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
15. Salutation:
This part is traditionally known to be the
greeting of the letter. It is similar to saying Hi, Hello
or good morning. It starts with a capital letter and
ends with a colon if the punctuation style used is
mixed or close punctuation styles.
Most Formal: Sir/ Madam:
Formal: My dear Sir;
My dear Madam;
16. Body of the letter:
This is the most important part of the
letter for it carries the message or the main
text of the sender to the addressee. It should
be clear, concise, complete, and concrete.
Grammar, punctuation marks and word
choice should be correct since these
contribute to the clarity of the message.
17. Complimentary Close:
- This is similar to saying goodbye.
- It begins at the same horizontal point as the
heading.
- It ends with a comma when the style used is
either mix or close punctuation styles.
Examples:
Yours truly,
Yours very truly,
Very truly yours,
Sincerely yours,
Faithfully yours,
18. Signature:
This refers to the handwritten as
well as the typewritten signatures of
the sender.
- This part of the letter is used to
authenticate the statements in the

responsibility of all these, hence, the
signature.
