Letter to the judges
- 1. Alexis Chumbler 1550 Owens Store Road Canton, GA 30115 12 April 2012 Judges, Senior Project Creekview High School 1550 Owens Store Road Canton, GA 30115 Dear Judges: My name is Alexis Chumbler and my senior project wasn’t a typical senior project. I did how to live the college life affordably. My goal in the project was to learn more about college expenses and how to budget yourself along the way. The reason I did this project is because as a senior about to go off to college I felt that I should get to know more about where most of the money goes and where money should and shouldn’t go towards. I learned a lot in this project as I did more and more research on different colleges. My product was doing research on an in-state, out-of-state, and private college, and finding out the differences in money between them. My research paper is a little different than what I did as my product. My research paper was more about being healthy and not necessary take the cheap way out of doing things and how to budget and still be healthy along the way with meals and things. Some of the obstacles that I faced were finding time to work with my facilitator with the product end of it, and making a few hours of my busy day to work on it as well. The research wasn’t too hard of a task, but it did take a lot of time to find all the necessary information. Like I said before, my senior project was not a typical senior project, but I felt that it would be very beneficial to my near future and would make me realize how expensive college has become every year. Because of my decision of product, this does not relate to a career, so this isn’t something that I could pursue in the future other than know what I’m getting myself into as a parent in the distant future. My opinion of this project is that if I could go back and choose something more interesting, I definitely would. I did learn a lot from this project, but I personally don’t feel that I did what I had the potential of doing for a more outstanding senior project.
