To Whom It May Concern:
I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Shea Gallup who was a Ticket Operations intern for the Madison
Mallards in the summer of 2015. The Madison Mallards are an independent baseball club playing within the
Northwoods league, one of the top wood-bat summer leagues for collegiate baseball players. As the Internship
Coordinator, I supervised the Ticket Operations interns on a daily basis.
Shea was a vital part of the Mallards’ Ticket Operations this past summer. Shea arrived early to the program and
immediately took on a leadership role by helping coach and train other ticketing interns as they arrived. Shea learns
quickly, is very timely, anticipates problems before they occur and has a willingness to take on any task that is asked
of him. He also is friendly, articulate and has strong customer service skills. One of my favorite characteristics of
Shea is his dependability. I would only entrust Shea with some of my most detail oriented customer requests as I
knew he would complete any task without error and ahead of schedule.
As a Ticket Operations intern, Shea was asked to handle a variety of tasks on a daily basis. On any given day Shea
would be responsible for:
Reporting directly to the Ticket Operations Manager
Using a ticketing software called Glitnir to sell tickets to new and recurring customers in a fast paced
environment
Answering phones and directing customers to the appropriate Mallards staff member
Informing customers of the extensive ticket packages and promotions that the Mallards offer
Interacting with sponsors and vendors in a professional manner
Managing part time staff and logistics for special events hosting over 13,000 people
The Ticket Operations internship is demanding and requires focus and attention to detail. Besides just ticketing
duties, Shea went above and beyond by participating in a weekly sales program in which he finished top in his class.
Shea also gained valuable marketing experience by creating a marketing plan for the Mallards 2016 season within a
team setting.
The 2015 season was yet another tremendous experience for the nearly one million fans that walked through the
turnstiles here at the Warner Park. Shea played an impactful role in helping deliver the top-notch fan experience that
has become so closely associated with the Mallards organization. Shea’s customer service skills, problem solving
ability and organizational skills make him a great addition to any company.
Sincerely,
