Representations of young people in magazines and newspapers
Letter of Rec from DIRT Magazine
1. November 5, 2014
To whom it may concern,
Adam Way volunteered as the Promotions Manager for
DIRT Magazine, a non-profit youth-based art, music and
culture magazine, for a period of 2 years (2008-2010). His
responsibilities included selling advertising, promotion of the
magazine, distribution, and event coordination.
Adam displayed enormous capability in these fields. He sold
one thousand dollars worth of in-magazine advertising for
each of the four issues. Adam's strong points include
reliability and a special dedication to the arts, as well as a
keen business sense and a professional attitude that went
beyond his years. He worked well both as part of a small
group and independently, thought of original ideas and
strategies, and was able to understand the needs and
specific brand of the magazine and apply that to his work.
I wholeheartedly recommend Adam for the position he is
applying for. He proved to me that he is thoughtful about his
work and is extremely dedicated and professional. This
combined with his real passion for the arts and music makes
him, in my opinion, a great candidate for the City of Music
Internship. Feel free to contact me with any questions you
may have.
Sincerely,
Anna Ryon
