This document is a letter requesting that two English teachers be nominated from the recipient school to attend a workshop on criteria-referenced holistic assessment of writing. The workshop will be held on February 2nd from 9am to 1pm at XLRI and will provide hands-on training in assessing written work based on globally validated criteria for proficient English writing. Teachers who complete the training will be able to consistently apply grading scales and criteria to evaluate essays in an objective manner. Certified participants will also have the opportunity to be deployed to evaluate 150-word essays for XLRI between mid-February and late March, with decent remuneration provided.
