Our First Success Story
New Delhi, India - 2016
◉ September 2016: Our first student in New Delhi is
enrolled into our Scholarship programme.
◉ June 2018: WE OPENED OUR FIRST SCHOOL IN
DELHI!
◉ 2020 Despite Covid-19 restrictions, our school has re-
opened and we are glad to announce we have an
encouraging 10% increase in student numbers to 33.

Success Breeds Success
January 2019: 10 students in Uganda enrolled into our merit-
based Scholarship programme.
May 2019: Team Lenoir completed the Queen
Elizabeth Olympic Park 10k and raised £1000 from fundraising.
September 2019: 5 acres of land purchased in Kampala,
Uganda
December 2019: Christmas Shoe Box Appeal – Over 85 Students
(Uganda & India) provided with boxes filled with toys, school
supplies & hygiene Items.

Today there are 425 primary school children crowded in a depleted classroom environment in a
small village in Uganda. This is a country with one of the lowest primary 'survival rates' in East
Africa - with just 33% of children completing primary school before moving onto Secondary School.
This contrasts most strikingly to Kenya's primary graduation rate of 84%, 78% in Tanzania and 81%
in Rwanda.
Over the past five years, with your assistance we have been trying to make reading and writing a
reality for every child. With these facilities we plan to provide more reference books in A NEW
LIBRARY where the students can obtain other useful information and advice. This could mean a
real opportunity to open the minds of the children to the outside world and broaden their knowledge
and education.

Their Needs = Our Challenges

• Overcrowded classrooms – 40 students squeeze into a 25ft x 15ft classroom (about ¼ size of an average
classroom in the UK).
• Restricted number of textbooks – 1 for every 5 students to share. (No books to be taken home to do homework)
• Overloaded Teachers – Lots of extra work, but below average salaries. A huge burden and challenge
is one of
the many public primary schools in Uganda
which has continued to suffer from
perennial neglect. Though it has
consistently produced some of the top
students in the region, the school lacks a
library that matches its compliments.

Objectives of the project:
1. Provide more reference books for
the library and create a new
platform for local libraries to share
information and advice.
2. Facilitate staff training and
development.
3. Establish The Student Advice
Centre.
4. Provide IT Equipment within the
local limitations.

Over the past five years, with your assistance we have been trying to make reading and writing a reality for every child. With these facilities we plan to provide more reference books in A NEW LIBRARY where the students can obtain other useful information and advice. This could mean a real opportunity to open the minds of the children to the outside world and broaden their knowledge and education. Our Present Intention 6 *Information is sourced from UNICEF - Out of School Study of Children in Uganda, Education Policy and Data Centre, Inter-Regional Inequality Facility, UNESCO Institute for Statistics.

Their Needs = Our Challenges 7 • Overcrowded classrooms – 40 students squeeze into a 25ft x 15ft classroom (about ¼ size of an average classroom in the UK). • Restricted number of textbooks – 1 for every 5 students to share. (No books to be taken home to do homework) • Overloaded Teachers – Lots of extra work, but below average salaries. A huge burden and challenge is one of the many public primary schools in Uganda which has continued to suffer from perennial neglect. Though it has consistently produced some of the top students in the region, the school lacks a library that matches its compliments. St Peters Musheyiza

Facilitate staff training and development. 3. Establish The Student Advice Centre. 4. Provide IT Equipment within the local limitations. We plan to convert this derelict building to our new library.
