A Kenyan mother's dream to establish a library at the local primary school in her childhood village has helped renew education for the children there. With support from donors, a new library classroom was constructed and equipped with books, laptop computers, and other resources. Additional funding is being sought to build nine new classrooms, install a village water well, and establish boarding facilities to make the school more sustainable and able to serve students from outside the local area.

Pamoja is a sustainable scenario regarding Oral Health Education for Kenyan kindergartens developed during my master thesis.
The project was conducted on field for 3 months collecting insights and inspiration for the design phase concluded in the Netherlands.
The idea includes the ideation of a natural toothpaste together with the design of a school dispenser that allows children to learn, by making, how to prepare the dentifrice by their own. Furthermore, all the ingredients are planted in the school garden so the kindergarten can supply regularly toothpaste to the pupils and children can receive an ecological education by the environment.

Let's Build a Library in Uganda!
A little bit of context.
St Peters Musheyija is one of the many public primary schools in Uganda which has continued to suffer from perennial neglect. Though it has consistently produced some of the top students in the region, the school lacks a library that matches its compliments.
We firmly believe that the 21st century belongs to Africa, to the growth and development of the many countries in this continent. To enable and help with such growth and development, there is an urgent need for the promotion of better education for the Africa youth, both NOW, and in the years to come.

The community is on a mission to develop agriculture in their town and to build a self sustainable school for their children. This pack explains in more detail what they are doing and how we are serving them. It also shares exactly how you can contribute to them achieving their goals. Please offer feedback as to how we can strengthen our Investor Pack as this is the first time we have created anything of its kind!

20. The Mission
• One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is a non-profit
organization whose mission is to provide every
• child in the world access to new channels of
learning, sharing and self-expression.
• In partnership with the Zamora Teran
Foundation, OLPC is working to provide each
child with a
• rugged, low-cost, low-power connected laptop
and/or tablet computer that empowers
individual
• learning and growth.
21. The Five Principles
OLPC is an education project, not a laptop project.
1. The children keep the laptops. They can take them home and use
them wherever they want.
2. The focus is on primary school education, on children 6 to 12 years
old.
3. Deployments saturate the region. The project is implemented in
entire classrooms and schools so no child or teacher gets left out.
4. Children can connect to the Internet. This enables them to
communicate with the world and have access to vast resources of
information.
5. Children are free to grow and adapt. The laptops come with free
and open-source software that is easy to use and adapt, which
enables children to become active participants in a global learning
community.
