Lesson plan: Types of Angles
Done by: Sahar Hamzah and
Rasha Koleilat
Duration: 3 hours ( 1 hour each plan)
Objectives:
Students will be able to:
1. ◦ Name the four angles.
2. ◦ indicate the types of angles on a pizza.
3. ◦ Differentiate between the sizes of the angles.
Plan A: students watch the video.
Students watch the video several times so that they memorize
the song.
Students are asked to sing the poem along with the teacher.
The teacher asks the students the following questions:
1) ◦ How many angles did you see in the video?
2) ◦ What are these angles?
3) ◦ How are these angles formed using pizza slices?
Teacher distributes worksheets on the students where they have
to write the answer to each riddle.
Guess the type of the angle below:
1) I am formed of one slice of pizza:
2) I am formed of 4 slices of pizza:
3) I am formed of 3 or more slices of pizza:
4) I am formed of 2 slices of pizza:
Plan B: the teacher brings to the class a pizza ( real or plastic).
The teacher and the students sing the song together to recall the
types of angles.
The teacher then shows several number of pizza slices.
The teacher picks:
1) ◦ One slice and asks one student to name it.
2) ◦ Two slices and asks one student to name it.
3) ◦ Three slices (or more) and asks one student to
name it.
4) ◦ Four slices and asks one student to name it.
The teacher distributes a worksheet with pictures so that
students name the type of angle shown in a circle divided into 8
pieces:
Name the shaded angle shown below with justification:
Plan C: the teacher divides the class into 4 groups. Then she
asks each group to bring a pie or cake divided into 8 parts as the
pizza to the class so that they can apply what they watched in
the video.
Each group sings the song which they learnt from the video.
The teacher asks each group to show a specific type of angle
using what they brought:
1) ◦ Group A : show me an acute angle.
2) ◦ Group B: show me a right angle.
3) ◦ Group C: show me an obtuse angle.
4) ◦ Group D: show me a straight angle.
The teacher distributes a worksheet so that students shade each
type of angles with specific color:
 Shade the:
1. first pizza to show an acute angle
2. Second pizza to show an obtuse angle
3. Third pizza to show a straight angle
4. Fourth pizza to show a right angle
1. First picture
2. Second picture
3. Third picture
