Who is absent today?
B. Review of the Past Lesson
Now before we proceed to our topic for today let
us review first of, what is mathematics?
Mathematics is the science that deals with the
logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. Math
is all around us, in everything we do.
C. MOTIVATION
May I request everyone to please stand and
sing “Little Indians”
One little two, little three, little Indian, four little
five, little six, little Indian, seven, little eight, little

Very good!
There are ten little Indians.
D. Presentation/ Discussion
Our lesson for today is all about Addition.
Addition is the process of adding two or more
items together. In math, addition is the method
of calculating the sum of two or more numbers.
Addition is denoted using the plus sign ‘+ ‘such
as the addition of 3 and 3 can be written as 3 +
3. Also, the plus sign (+) can be used as many
times as required, such as 3 + 3 + 3 + 3.
Do you understand class?
Now class I have here a scenario:
1.Papa Ben give Sarah a two oranges and
Mama Airen give two oranges.

How many books do they have?
Very good!
(The teacher shows a flash cards)
I have here a flash cards, and everyone who
wants to answer, can you please raise your right
hand.
Now, let’s have an activity. I will show you
numbers and find the sum. After identifying the
sum, you will group yourselves according to
the answer and we will call it group yourselves.
Is that clear?
E. GENERALIZATION
In general, Addition is combining of two or more
numbers. Addends are the numbers being
added, and the result or the final answer after
the process is called sum. It is one of the
essential mathematical functions we use in our
everyday activities.
Do you have any concerns about our topic today
class?
Very good!
