Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.

- 3. What is cloud computing? Using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. Therefore this allows for secure access to all applications and data from any network device.

- 8. Advantages of Cloud Computing Agility – improves the processing and working time Access – able to access files from any computer with an internet connection. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Back up – if a file or document is lost, then it is retrievable from the cloud. Cost – Cost effective as only an internet connection is needed. Sharing and Collaboration – Share work without having to use paper and with anyone in the world. Change in work patterns – Can be opened and edited anywhere in the world, with multi users at one time. Less exposure – confidential information can be protected more than if it was printed on paper. Acquire and develop new skills – users are using technology to recognise and learn transferable skills.
- 9. Disadvantages of Cloud Computing Internet connection – Internet connection needs to be reliable and usable 24/7. Hackers – unauthorised users may gain access to the data and files. Dependant on speed of the internet connection – can be slow to backup and restore from the cloud. Technical Issues – all users need to create and set up an account as well as dysfunctions and problems.
