What do we expect from a rock music magazine ?
Dominant Representation is what you (the audience)expect to find in
and on a magazine. So with my magazine I needed to follow some key
theme of other professional rock magazines and what their and my
audience would expect to see. They would expect the same colour
scheme, always a picture of an artist and date and price. Those are the
simple ones.

3. Having a simple title font and simple colour
is shown in the rock magazine. So I kept to
that with them
Having a simple colour through the
magazine. Like the colour theme on the
front cover. Like for Kerrang it has 3
colour theme, they are black, yellow and
white. So mine I chose to do 3 colour
scheme of black, red and white.
Having a music artist cover most of the
front page. Giving a direct pose or un
direct pose.

4. ALTERNATIVE REPRESENT
What we wouldn’t r expect from a rock magazine?
Alternative Representation is what you (the audience) wouldn’t expect
to find in and on a magazine. So with my magazine I needed to be
different and have some of my own ideas and making it my own but
still keeping it professional rock magazine to see. With my front cover
of my magazine they really wouldn’t a black and white front cover
and coverlines saying “exclusive” for a feature story in my magazine.

5. You don’t find coverline on a rock magazine to present
a feature story in the magazine. Putting these on my
magazine takes it away from every other rock magazine
and make it my own. As on Kerrang (very popular rock
magazine) don’t have coverline saying “exclusive” so I
have broke away same structure of a rock magazine
and turn it into my own.
You don't really find many rock magazines
that used a black and white photo. So again I
wanted to make my magazine break away from
every rock magazine and turn it into my own.
But with many kerrang magazines, many of
the front cover are colour and bright.

6. DOMINANT IDEOLOGY
Dominant Ideology is the ideas that society having and
have been around for ages. One of these idea is men
being more dominate over women, being more
successful and powerful.
So with my magazine I wanted to show dominant of
men as main front cover picture is men and the biggest
(suggest more power) than little picture of the women in
the top left corner suggest the very little power she has
in the magazine.
