L'Entrà de la Murta
(Salvador Giner)
L'entrà de la Murta' es conocida hoy, principalmente, por el pasodoble que tituló así el
maestro Salvador Giner. Pero el músico se inspiró en una costumbre muy valenciana,
entre religiosa y social, que consiste en esparcir por las calles de una población en fiestas
ramas troceadas de hierbas aromáticas -sobre todo mirto (murta en valenciano)- que
previamente se han recogido en el monte. La tradición se mantiene en muchas
localidades de la Huerta de Valencia, extendiendo esta alfombra vegetal por donde ha de
discurrir la procesión en honor del patrón o la patrona, y en algunos casos la fiesta se
acompaña de bailes, o, con las “obreras” y “mayorales” en Bétera.
Los caballos, por su gran porte, son los que verdaderamente lucen con borlas y diversos
adornos con los que les engalanan para la ocasión. Perfectamente limpios y esquilados,
etc.

































  • 1. L'Entrà de la Murta (Salvador Giner) L'entrà de la Murta' es conocida hoy, principalmente, por el pasodoble que tituló así el maestro Salvador Giner. Pero el músico se inspiró en una costumbre muy valenciana, entre religiosa y social, que consiste en esparcir por las calles de una población en fiestas ramas troceadas de hierbas aromáticas -sobre todo mirto (murta en valenciano)- que previamente se han recogido en el monte. La tradición se mantiene en muchas localidades de la Huerta de Valencia, extendiendo esta alfombra vegetal por donde ha de discurrir la procesión en honor del patrón o la patrona, y en algunos casos la fiesta se acompaña de bailes, o, con las “obreras” y “mayorales” en Bétera. Los caballos, por su gran porte, son los que verdaderamente lucen con borlas y diversos adornos con los que les engalanan para la ocasión. Perfectamente limpios y esquilados, etc.
