The legislative branch is made up of two groups, the House of Representatives with 435 members representing populations of each state, and the Senate with 100 members with two representatives per state. They are responsible for creating and passing laws, overseeing the government, setting the budget and declaring war. The legislative branch includes the House of Representatives and Senate who are elected to make and pass laws for the country and provide checks and balances on the other branches of government.
