2. CANADIAN EH!
I was born in the Philippines in 1990 –
year of the horse. I came to Canada with my family
in March of 2005. It was difficult to adjust to the cold
weather, new environment, and different people.
But after a while I’ve gotten used to the weather
and met new friends. Three years after landing in
Canada, I became a Canadian citizen. My home
country (Philippines) is still in my heart and soul,
but I also embrace Canada as my own home now.
LEGENDARY!
3. VOLUNTEER
Power Unit is a non-profit youth organization founded in 2002. I participated in E3
Challenge that was organized by Power Unit in 2008. Participants were divided into
groups facing three challenges in two two months. Each group contributed at the
Toronto Night Market by creating a unique booth game for the event. My group’s
game turned out fun and successful. LEGENDARY!
4. EMPLOYEE
OF THE YEAR
I worked at Cineplex for almost four years. The company definitely gave me a lot of
experience in customer service. They had empowered me as an employee to
contribute in problem solving and decision making. A year after getting hired, I was
awarded the “2009 cast of the year” and “cast of the month of January”. I pretty
much gotten three awards because I was promoted to a team leader position on that
same day. LEGENDARY!
5. TRAVEL TIME
I always wanted to travel. So, when the
opportunity passed by, I grabbed it. I went to
New York with the Ryerson University
students in January 2011 as a school trip. We
took the greyhound bus and we got to our
destination in 10 hours. OUCH! It was a long
trip but it was worth it. We stayed at a hostel
for the whole weekend. I went to Central
Park, experienced New York subway, rode the
taxi along the busy streets of New York, ate at
different restaurants, spent good times with
my friends, and on top of all that, of course I
went shopping and gotten really good deals in
SOHO! LEGENDARY!
6. SCHOOL
CENTENNIAL COLLEGE – HUMAN RESOURCES
After a long time of trying to figure out what I wanted as a career, I’ve finally
figured out that I really wanted to help people. Working plays a huge part in
everyone’s day-to-day life. As an employee, I’ve experienced problems in the
work place that needed to be resolved but were neglected. So, I enrolled at
Centennial College in the summer of 2012, taking up Human Resources. I am
currently on my third semester and I am expected to finish in the summer of
2014. It’s going to be LEGENDARY!
