2. Hi,
I would like to introduce myself. My
name is Michael MacDonald. I came of
age in a small town in rural (very rural)
Nova Scotia, Bridgetown, “The Friendly
Town.” My three sisters and two
brothers all live in Nova Scotia and are
successful in various ways.
Upon graduating from university I
travelled to South Korea to find fame
and fortune. I was fortunate enough to
find my passion, a great partner and
enough money to pay off some student
loans.
My wife and moved to Middle Sackville
in 2007. Our son, Noah, was born in
Korea and our daughter, Hannah, was
born here last November.
4. The reason I’m here…
My Dad
I did not become a teacher because of a life
long dream to educate or for any other noble
reason. I became a teacher because of a
suggestion made by my father.
My father was a Teacher, Principal and at that
point in his life a Superintendent of schools.
He told me that I should complete an
education degree because even if I didn't want
to be a teacher a degree in education would
open up many other doors. His other
suggestion was that I stay out of the staff room
for the first couple of years.
I’m thankful for the times I took his advice.
