Grid is very important for drawing structures in SAP 2000. It allows the user to define the units and layout of the grid to place structural elements. The user can right click on the screen, select "Edit grid data" to define the target grid model for drawing the structure in SAP 2000. SAP 2000 is a general purpose finite element program for static or dynamic, linear or nonlinear analysis of structural systems and is also a design tool that follows building codes.

2. What is SAP2000
• SAP2000 (structural analysis program) is a
general purpose finite element program which
performs the static or dynamic, linear or
nonlinear analysis of structural systems. It is
also a powerful design tool to design
structures following AASHTO specifications,
ACI and AISC building codes.
