This document discusses trends in social media usage in Indonesia between 2010 and early 2011. It notes that the number of Indonesian Facebook users grew from 31.7 million to over 50 million in this period. Twitter also expanded rapidly, with over 5.3 million Indonesian users estimated. This growth was fueled by more affordable smartphones with internet access, as over 80% of users had phones costing less than 1.5 million rupiah that could access the internet.
