1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the construction
process of this product?

2. Photoshop
I have also learnt about
using RAW Image files, to
keep the data in the images
instead of them being
compressed into JPEG’s.
This meant that I could
make this image lighter by
using raw editing options
(Highlight’s, shadow’s,
white’s, etc.)
I have also noticed that by
using basic shapes, I can
make the design look
better. Instead of putting
text straight over the
image, I have used basic
shapes.
I added these shapes using
the shape tool (
)
Within this project I used Photoshop to design my cover page.
Photoshop has allowed me to create and design a good looking
cover page, exactly how I wanted it to look.
I have learnt how to install
custom fonts and install
them onto my computer.
Meaning I can have a more
professional looking
design, instead of using the
pre-downloaded PC fonts.
I have learnt how to add
effects onto text and
shapes, using the “fx”
tab.
This has allowed me to
put a stroke effect onto
certain shapes.
I used the paint tool to create the
silhouette effect on the drum kit. I
simply used an image of a drum kit,
then used the paint tool to fill the
drum kit black.

3. Quark
I also learnt how
to link the text
boxes, meaning I
could type
continuously
from one box to
the other.
I then used
Quark’s shape
tools, to make
the divider’s,
splitting the
page.
Using the guides,
I have created text
boxes that are the
exact same size,
making the text on
page look more
professional.
I used the edit
tools, to make
this text smaller,
and change the
colour, so that it
stood out on
the image.

4. DSLR Cameras
Within this project I have had to take a lot of images. To get
more control of how my images look, and the quality of my
images, I took them using a DSLR camera.
Using this type of camera has come very naturally to me,
because my other course at college, but I still feel I have
adapted my skills and knowledge within this technology.
