Our Journey…
This presentation shows our LMS journey
so far and how we continue to improve:
• Collaborating - personal and
professional networks to learn and
share.
• Empowering- users to own and
personalise their learning.
• Quality – create content that reflects
the latest thinking.
• Timely – learning that meets learners
immediate needs and allows them to
learn at their own pace.
We give staff the opportunity to “Thrive, Prosper, Be
Healthy and Safe and Take Part.” To achieve this we
need learning that is “on demand”.

The Solution…
Use the LMS to provide a “pick-and-mix” approach to development. Allowing
learners to tailor their learning experience around their development needs.
Remain relevant
• Keep ahead of the curve by researching and understanding trends in learning
technologies e.g. looking into the potential of Otto aka Flo.
Prepare for the unexpected
• Step out of our comfort zone when the world around us changes e.g. don’t be
afraid to change our LMS set-up and constantly review processes and tools to
provide the best solutions
Innovate
• Acquire new skills, seek out opportunities and find innovative solutions e.g. data
analytics has now become a key part of delivering learning development, so we
use live data to guide and support our learners to achieve their personal and our
organisational goals.

How are we doing this?
• The work we’ve done has already
made a difference.
• The 2018 staff engagement survey
noted that 55% of responders
agreed that they had the opportunity
for growth and development. This is
up ??% from 2017.
• Now our goal is to increase this
even more.
We’d now like to share what we’ve
been doing with you.

training!
BEFOREAFTER
To further support 70-20-10 we also
reviewed our course categories.
Here you can see the site as it was in April
2019.
We used specific colours for each learning
zone and dashboards to guide learners
through the site.
This worked well, but (due to the volume of
courses and categories) sometimes meant
4/5 clicks to access learning.
We knew we needed to improve…

The improvements
didn’t stop there. We
also made some
changes to course
pages:
• Rolled out the intro
block – greatly
improving enrolment
process
• Included standard
buttons – ensuring
that navigation and
help is always
available
• Introduced learning
activities – so the
user can easily see
what’s included in
the course and how
long it will take

Results…
The good news is, all this hard work and innovation is already starting to pay off:
✔ Over the last three months returning learners has increased by 12.6%.
✔ Mandatory module completion has an 18% increase since adding the dashlets
