This document provides an overview of the LeanX framework for starting a business. It emphasizes the importance of customer development, building a minimum viable product, and running lean experiments to validate hypotheses quickly. The framework recommends having paying customers within a month by dedicating at least 20 hours per week, getting customer feedback, developing an MVP focused on solving key problems, and iterating based on validated learning from real users.
Lean Startup - by Hristo Neychev (bring your ideas to life faster, smarter, a...Hristo Neychev
Lean Startup ideas, trends, and best practices through the lens of my experience in four industries, three startups, and two continents.
Lean Startup methodologies are applicable to both small and large organisation focused on creating new products and services under conditions of extreme uncertainty.
Presentation for Agile Australia Conference 2013. Introducing Lean Startup concepts in a way accessible to people used to usual project management methods. With lean startup you don't assume you know the end state required, (as you do with a project), you assume you need to focus on learning to discover the end state to solve the problem you area you looking at.
Lean Startup: How Development Looks Different at a StartupAbby Fichtner
How does development look different at a startup where learning (rather than working software) is our most important measure of progress?
Lean Startup is about creating companies with a BIG VISION, where we want to change the world and do something really significant. It's a methodology developed by Eric Ries to combine Agile Development with Customer Development so that we can be disciplined about how we create our startups. Come learn the concepts behind Lean Startup and discover how development looks different when you're creating things that nobody else done before.

In mass-production, you only have one chance to get the product right. The in-flexibility and expense of the physical product supply-chain prohibits an experimental, iterative approach. Inspired by lean startup, hardware entrepreneurs are developing new tools and methodologies for exploring and validating their product ideas prior to mass manufacture. 3D printing and off-the-shelf development kits are being used to support rapid product iteration and low-volume early adopter sales. Existing commercial products are being hacked by entrepreneurs to prototype and explore completely new experiences. Prototypes are becoming instrumented to collect data on engagement and usage patterns in the field. Defining a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)Eric Swenson
So you’ve begun the product development process. But there’s more to consider as a product manager. How do you know when you’ve built something sufficient as the initial product launch? How can you manage to continually iterate improvements to that product, once it’s been launched? Session Two addresses the challenge of delivering functionality with integrity!
This presentation was provided by Eric Swenson of Swensonia Consulting, during Session Two of the NISO event "Agile Product and Project Management for Information Products and Services," held on May 21, 2020.
As technologists, we love to build things. And we sometimes forget that our customers (or potential customers) don’t care about what we’re building. They care about what they’re building, doing, or feeling. In this talk, we’ll explore methodologies that help us continually focus on our customers’ needs, building just enough to learn and iterate towards their desired outcomes. Coming away from this, you’ll have a few more tools in the toolbox for your lean startup.

Uniting product development, business strategy, and agile software practices.
Covers thinking about product development wholistically from a customer-first perspective. Suggests good principles for established companies and boostrappers.
Software development, by its nature, is a series of translations and compromises. What the end user wants, what the customer is willing to pay for, and what is technically feasible rarely combine to form a unified set of features. A deeper understanding between technical and non-technical people is needed, in particular at the communication divide between stakeholders and developers. We will show you how to develop a domain-specific, ubiquitous language and how to use your code base as the central source for your requirements and documentation, to improve communication for the whole team.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
