Lean UX in practice at TheLaddersHigh five!Agile Experience Design Meetup – June 2nd, 2011, NYC
We’re hiring!Designers, developers and more…Job site for professionals earning $100k or more and the recruiters/employers looking to hire them.#LeanUX | @jboogie
Our first attempts at merging Agile and UX..well…Where others had failed, so did we#LeanUX | @jboogie
So we iterated the processAgain and again.#LeanUX | @jboogiehttp://lauriesims.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/repeat.jpg
We learned (at least) two big things…#LeanUX | @jboogie
1. Solve problems together#LeanUX | @jboogie
Problem-statement focusNot features#LeanUX | @jboogiehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/mims/326748812/sizes/l/
Solve the problem togetherAs opposed to implementing someone else’s solution#LeanUX | @jboogiehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/mims/326748812/sizes/l/
2. Focus on experiences, not deliverables#LeanUX | @jboogie
Lean UXInspired by Lean Startup and Agile development theories, it’s the practice of bringing the true nature of our work to light faster, with less emphasis on deliverables and greater focus on the actual experience being designed.#LeanUX | @jboogie
It goes a little something like this…Initially focused on just the UX folksPrototypeConceptValidate InternallyTest ExternallyLearn from user behaviorIterate#LeanUX | @jboogie
The only thing being removed is waste. You leave that stuff laying around and it starts to stink!#LeanUX | @jboogiehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/mims/326748812/sizes/l/

Editor's Notes

  • #4 Marrying agile and ux had traditionally ended up like this…..and, unfortunately, this was no different for us in our first attempts.
