This document discusses 5 styles of leadership: exploitative autocracy, benevolent autocracy, bureaucracy, consultative leadership, and participative leadership. It also covers the differences between Theory X and Theory Y assumptions about employees. Flexibility is important, as no single style fits all situations. Characteristics of both autocratic and participative leaders are provided. The importance of visibility and open communication for supervisors is also discussed.
