Every year for 10 years, non-profits from Central Pennsylvania have brought their needs for professional-quality design materials to Pennsylvania College of Art &Design’s American Institute of Graphic Arts Student Chapter (AIGA) for the annual Designathon. Every year, PCA&D students, aided by faculty members and PCA&D alumni (and lots of coffee), create brochures, logos, t-shirts, posters, websites and more during a 24 hour period.
During the 10th annual event on Feb 23 aND 24, 28 Graphic Design students aided by 8 faculty members and 8 alumni, one of whom participated in the original Designathon, sequesterED themselves at PCA&D starting at 6 p.m. on February 23 to deliver professional-quality design services at no charge to the non-profits. Students at PCA&D who participate in the Designathon gain real-world experience in creating projects for clients under a tight, 24-hour deadline. They learn that non-profits have very real marketing needs in order to be successful, and strong graphic design on well-organized collateral pieces are vital components in successful communications and marketing plans. More importantly, students experience the value of giving back to the community.

Assure Method - Months
The teacher will teach 1st grade students the months of the year using the ASSURE method over the course of a week. She will use several methods - singing a song, playing "Pin the Month on the Calendar", an interactive computer game, and having students make their own calendars. Materials will include the song lyrics, a blank calendar, notecards with months, computers, and art supplies. Throughout the week, the teacher will observe students to evaluate their understanding and participation. At the end, she will individually evaluate students on their knowledge of the months and get feedback to help revise future lessons.
Linear programming
This linear programming problem involves a company that produces plates and mugs with limited labor and clay resources. The objective is to maximize total profit. There are two decision variables - number of plates and number of mugs. Lancaster Country Day School has taken three trips to China to recruit Chinese students. [Trip #1] was a discovery trip that validated their goal but they did not successfully recruit any students. [Trip #2] saw some success recruiting two students but challenges with timing. [Trip #3] saw improvements to their recruitment process, documentation, and communication. They enjoyed visiting schools in China and their relationships with Chinese contacts have been very helpful for their recruitment efforts.

David, the shepherd boy is anointed and Saul is envious of him. David shows honor while Saul continues to self destruct.

Linear Measurements: Instruments used. Linear Measurement by Tape, Ranging out Survey Lines and overcoming Obstructions; Measurements on sloping ground; Tape corrections, conventional symbols. Angular Measurements: Instruments used; Introduction to Compass Surveying, Bearings and Longitude & Latitude of a Line, Introduction to total station.
Levelling: Instrument used Object of levelling, Methods of levelling in brief, and Contour maps.
