Laravel Valet is a development environment for Mac users that allows them to run PHP projects locally using custom domain names like *.dev. It runs Nginx and DnsMasq in the background to proxy requests for sites installed on the local machine to the custom domains. Valet is installed via Composer and configured to launch on system start. The "park" command is used to serve sites locally and the "link" command serves single directories. HTTPS can be enabled or disabled using the "secure" and "unsecure" commands. The "share" command shares sites publicly. Valet supports frameworks like Laravel, Lumen, Symfony and many others out of the box.

2. How it works
Laravel Valet configures your Mac to
always run Nginx in the background
when your machine starts. Then,
using DnsMasq, Valet proxies all
requests on the *.dev domain to point
to sites installed on your local
machine.

3. Installation
● Install or update Homebrew to the latest version using $
brew update.
● Install PHP 7.1 using Homebrew via $ brew install
homebrew/php/php71.
● Install Valet with Composer via $ composer global require
laravel/valet.
● Run the $ valet install command. This will configure and
install Valet and DnsMasq, and register Valet's daemon to
launch when your system starts.
● If you'd like to use another domain (e.g. *.app), you can do
so using the $ valet domain app

4. Serving Sites Using the park command
and simply the symfony installation will be running on blog.dev
You can also use the link command to serve a single directory
$ valet link directory-name

5. Serving Sites Using the park command
if you would like to serve a site over encrypted TLS you can use
the secure command
To apply HTTPS:
$ valet secure blog
Undo HTTPS:
$ valet unsecure blog

6. Sharing Site Using the share command
To share a site, navigate to the site's directory in your terminal
and run the valet share command.

7. Other Valet Commands
Command Description
valet forget Run this command from a "parked" directory to remove it from the
parked directory list.
valet paths View all of your "parked" paths.
valet restart Restart the Valet daemon.
valet start Start the Valet daemon.
valet stop Stop the Valet daemon.
valet uninstall Uninstall the Valet daemon entirely.
