Covenant watchnight service 31 dec12 jer 31 31-34SSMC
This document discusses the concept of covenants in the Bible. It provides examples of different covenants God made, such as the Noahic Covenant, Abrahamic Covenant, and Mosaic Covenant. Each covenant involved a visible sign or symbol, such as the rainbow, circumcision, or Ten Commandments carved in stone. The document also discusses the covenant of salt multiple times in the Bible and how salt represents believers spreading God's word to others.
The document discusses redemption through Jesus Christ. It explains that Jesus' blood sacrifice was the only price that could redeem mankind from sin. It describes how redemption is seen throughout the Bible, from the Exodus to the teachings of Jesus. The document emphasizes that through Jesus' death on the cross, believers can receive forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life in heaven.
This document contains excerpts from the book of Philippians in the Bible and commentary on having a positive attitude. It discusses how Paul viewed his imprisonment as advancing the gospel, as it allowed him to spread the Christian message to the palace guard and emboldened other believers to proclaim the gospel without fear. The document advocates adopting an attitude of finding what is great about every situation, based on Paul's example and the biblical verse that God works all things for good.
The Life in Christ: relying on the bloodMichael Smith
1) Jesus is our perpetual priest who intercedes for us always through his sacrifice and blood.
2) As our high priest, Jesus guarantees a better covenant than the old law through his blood, which cleanses us from guilt and secures our pardon, salvation, and rescue from the consequences of sin.
3) We can have victory over guilt by confessing our sins, trusting in Jesus' mercy and his blood to cleanse us from sin.
This document discusses what generous living means. It involves being generous with one's time, talents, and treasure. Generous living means not neglecting important matters like justice, mercy and faithfulness. It encourages setting aside money proportionally according to one's income to support God's people. True treasure is stored in heaven, not on earth, and one's heart will follow their treasure. The memory verse encourages remembering that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
The document discusses Abraham as a model of faithfulness for followers of God. It summarizes that Abraham obeyed God's call, endured trials through his life, and taught others about God. It encourages readers to imitate Abraham's faithful obedience by hearing and obeying the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
The document discusses the promises of God and lessons that can be learned from Paul's letters about Christ's return. It notes that Christ's coming was prophesied to be in the future after a "falling away" from faith. Some key points: the Roman Catholic Church fulfills the prophecy of the "falling away"; the Pope claims divine authority that rightly belongs only to Christ; and believers must not be deceived but remain faithful to Christ and his teachings alone until his return. The document urges readers to be ready for Christ's return by coming to faith in him through hearing the gospel, repenting of sins, confessing him, and being baptized.
1) Jesus feeds a crowd of 5,000 men with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish after his disciples say they do not have enough food for all the people.
2) Jesus has the people sit down in groups and then blesses and breaks the bread, giving it to the disciples to distribute.
3) Everyone eats and is satisfied, with 12 baskets of leftovers remaining, showing how Jesus can provide abundantly with even just a little.

This document discusses prophecies from the book of Daniel regarding the end times. It describes events during the persecution by Antiochus IV including the martyrdom of Jews who refused to renounce their faith. It then talks about Judas Maccabeus and others who aided the Jews after their fall. The document suggests these prophecies point to future persecutions of Jews and Christians until the time of the end. It claims Daniel's visions were meant to describe what will happen to God's people in the last days.
The document lists the times of services at the Haynes Street church of Christ on Sundays and Wednesdays. On Sundays, there is a 9:30 AM Bible class and a 10:30 AM worship service. On Wednesdays, there is a 7 PM Bible class. The document welcomes people to the Haynes Street church of Christ.
Repentance is necessary for our salvation, but what does it mean? The Parable of the Prodigal Son provides a beautiful picture of repentance demonstrating the necessity of honesty, humility and action.
The document argues that the "last days" referred to in the New Testament occurred during the time of Jesus' ministry and the establishment of the early Christian church, not in modern times. It asserts that the last days were the end of the Jewish age and Old Covenant, and that events like the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 fulfilled Jesus' end times prophecies for the first century generation. The document concludes that the last days are behind us by over 1900 years, not still to come as claimed by some modern prophecy teachings.
The document discusses Christian perspectives on the end times as described in the Old Testament. It explains that the "last days" began with a prophecy of Jacob concerning the 12 tribes of Israel, and refers specifically to events that would occur when only the tribe of Judah remained in covenant with God. It describes how the kingdom of Israel was divided after Solomon, with 10 tribes going into exile and only Judah remaining, fulfilling the condition for the last days. The restoration of Israel prophesied in the Old Testament refers to their gathering after having been without a king for a long period of time.
The document discusses the concept of "THE BLESSING" from the Bible. It refers to passages from Genesis about God blessing Abram and his descendants. The blessing is described as a supernatural force that empowers people to fulfill their potential and destiny. The blessing makes the difference by guaranteeing rightness, committing God's manifest presence, positioning people for economic exploitation, and providing exemptions from destiny harassment. The objective is to redefine "THE BLESSING" and empower people to walk in its reality.
Many strive to worship a god because humans were created by Jehovah to seek Him. However, sin prevents a good relationship with God. The judgment day is coming when Christ returns, and all who have died will be raised from the dead to face judgment. People should prepare now by obeying the gospel of Christ through hearing, believing, repenting of sins, confessing faith, and baptism.
Jesus tells a parable emphasizing the importance of repentance. He says unless people repent, they will perish. He tells of a fig tree that failed to bear fruit for three years. The owner wants to cut it down but the gardener asks for one more year to care for it in hopes it will bear fruit. Jesus warns that all people are sinners and must repent to avoid God's judgment and perish, just as the unfruitful fig tree will be cut down if it does not repent and bear fruit.
The document discusses making room for God in one's life by putting Him first before all other things. It says that people often crowd God out by prioritizing other things over Him like football. It encourages the reader to clean up their life by throwing out sin and replacing it with godly things. To make room for God, one must love Him with all their heart and dedicate every aspect of their life to Him through obedience.
This document discusses what it means to be a servant of God. It begins by looking at Jesus Christ as the ultimate example of servanthood, washing his disciples' feet before his crucifixion. Second, it encourages believers by reminding them that God promises to never leave them and strengthen them. Finally, it notes that serving others enriches our lives spiritually and brings satisfaction, as we are blessed to become a blessing to others. The overall message is that Christians should desire to serve God and others humbly as Jesus did.
Moses was a man of great faith who made difficult choices to follow God. He refused the pleasures of Egypt to identify with God's people, even though it meant suffering. Moses chose to endure hardship and rejection rather than renounce Christ. He looked past temporary pleasures to the eternal reward of God's kingdom. His example teaches us to make righteousness our priority and dedicate ourselves fully to serving Christ.

This article discusses God's commandment of evangelism and whether he truly means what he says about it. It addresses two key questions: 1) Does God have anything to say about evangelism? 2) Does God want man to be saved? Regarding the first, the article notes Jesus' Great Commission in Matthew and Mark, commanding the disciples to go preach the gospel to the world. It argues this applies to all Christians today. On the second, it cites passages showing God's desire is for all people to be saved and come to repentance. The challenge for Christians, then, is not whether God means what he says, but whether we will follow his command to spread the good news of salvation through evangelism.
The document discusses the great need for Christians to intensely engage in sharing the gospel with all people. It notes that the world is in sin and people need to hear about Christ to be saved. However, many Christians lack concern, knowledge, courage, faith, and focus to fulfill the Great Commission. Christians must share the gospel to obey Christ's command, show love for others, and be like the early church with zeal for the Lord. Intense engagement will also help avoid God's judgment and bring joy from saving souls. The greatest need of the church is to return to its original evangelistic mission, and of Christians to actively participate in spreading the gospel.
This document discusses the need for Christians to engage intensely in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to spread the gospel. Some reasons evangelism is not being done effectively include a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill Christ's command to make disciples of all nations and show love for others by sharing the gospel. It encourages emulating the evangelistic zeal of the early church to fulfill their purpose and experience the joy of saving souls.
This document discusses the need for intense engagement in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to meet this need. However, the need is not being met due to a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples, to love others by offering salvation, and to have the zeal of the early church. It argues intense engagement is needed because of God's command, to show love for others, and because of the joy in saving souls and the terror of judgment day. The conclusion calls Christians to restore the church's original mission of intense engagement in God's vineyard.
This article discusses what people truly need in life. It argues that while we often confuse wants for needs, true needs are things like God, forgiveness, and companionship. God is necessary for our existence, salvation, and fellowship. We need forgiveness to restore our relationship with God and find true self-esteem. We need companionship, but God offers the ultimate companionship to those who follow him. In conclusion, when we consider our real needs, we see that having God meets all of our needs.
The document discusses two paths in life according to the Bible - the broad path leading to destruction and death versus the narrow path leading to life. It explores what the paths entail, including that all have sinned but can be saved through repenting and believing in Jesus, who died for sins and was resurrected. The document encourages examining one's own path and considering placing one's faith in Jesus to receive salvation and eternal life.
This document provides an introduction to a Bible study on being born again and saved. It discusses that many Christians in Pakistan are Christian in name only without a personal acceptance of Jesus. It emphasizes that wisdom comes from fearing God and knowing him. It asks how people can be sure they are saved, explaining that it requires a change of mind or repentance about who Jesus is. The goals of the Bible study are to help Christians understand their faith, be able to defend it to others, prevent falling away, and protect against false teachings.
This document provides the order of service for a church gathering on the 3rd Sunday after Pentecost. It discusses the readings from Matthew about Jesus' healing ministry and his instructions to his disciples to go out and preach the good news. The key messages are that the harvest is plentiful but laborers are few, so Christians should pray to God to send more workers. Jesus showed compassion for those in need and Christians should do the same. Two hymns ask God to release his power and glory upon the gathered believers.
Why Attend All the Services of the ChurchMichael Smith
The document discusses why it is important to attend all services of the church, including Bible classes, worship services, and gospel meetings. It provides several reasons: 1) to obey God's command to assemble together, 2) to encourage and motivate one another to love and good deeds, and 3) because it is necessary for spiritual safety, strength, and growth. Attending all services helps Christians set a good example, prove their love for God, and allows the church to continue growing.
https://birminghamchurch.org.uk - Lesson by Roger Frimpong. God is love and God is holy. When a loving God meets sinful humans this love becomes grace. When a holy God meets sinful humans it becomes wrath. God saves us from his holy wrath through Jesus Christ.
As Christians in the U.S., we should be concerned with the moral issues facing the country. The document discusses issues like abortion, moral relativism, and mistreating others as sins. It notes that God will punish those who do not obey his will. The document draws parallels between ancient Israel facing judgment for sin and the potential for America to face judgment. It calls Christians to repent, pray, live rightly, and teach God's word so that God will heal the land.
This document provides instructions for salvation according to the Bible. It explains that salvation comes through faith in God and obedience to His word. The key steps to salvation outlined are: 1) Hear the gospel, 2) Believe in Jesus, 3) Repent of sins, 4) Confess faith in Christ, 5) Be baptized for forgiveness of sins. Examples are given from Acts showing people completing these steps. Obedience leads to salvation but disobedience leads to condemnation. The purpose is to provide the true biblical path to salvation.
The apostle Paul would disagree with Prosperity Theology based on several biblical passages. Paul suffered greatly for spreading the gospel, as did other apostles and early Christians. Jesus and his disciples lived in poverty and humility. The Bible warns that wealth can become a snare and distract from God. True prosperity comes from God and should be used to help others and spread the gospel, not for personal gain.
The document is a sermon about Hebrews 3:7-13 that discusses not hardening one's heart and hearing God's voice today. It provides commentary on verses 7-10, 16-19 noting how the Israelites rebelled in the wilderness and were punished. The sermon urges listeners to hear God today by visiting the sick, studying the Bible, not forsaking church, teaching others, giving, and living for Christ. It encourages Christians to exhort one another daily lest they become hardened by sin and discusses how believers are part of God's household if they hold fast to hope.

The document provides numerous Bible verses showing that repentance was a core part of Jesus and the disciples' message in calling people to follow him. It suggests that without repentance, one cannot truly call themselves a Christian.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

2. What Do You Lack?
Mark 10:17-22: Jesus is teaching us to let go of
the things that hinder us from serving Him.
What can hinder us? TV, movies, computer,
cellphones, iPads and even character flaws.
What shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? It’s
the most important question you’ll ever ask.
What is the motive? Confirmation for doing good,
or truly believing there is something lacking.
What are you lacking? We can be blind to our own
sins, or we’d fix what we know.
3. What Do You Lack?
Jesus looks directly at his heart (v. 21), knowing
exactly what was hindering the rich young ruler.
How many of us would be willing to give up all of
our possessions?
Jesus didn’t say this is what I want from you. He
said this is what I want you to give up, then follow
Me.
Mark 10:23-25: Hard for a rich man to enter
heaven, but we all qualify as rich, don’t we?
But maybe materialism isn’t what’s hindering you?
4. What Do You Lack?
Maybe it’s something else that you’re lacking.
Spend time with your family and brethren.
Stop talking and do more listening (James 1:19).
Ephesians 5:16: “Redeem the time.”
I Corinthians 6:11: “And such were some of
you.”
II Timothy 4:6-8: Fighting the good fight until
the end, like Paul.
Philippians 3:12-14: Pressing toward the goal.
5. What Do You Lack?
Colossians 3:5-10: Let go of the things that are
full of the flesh; put off the old man.
Fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5); true scriptural
love (I Corinthians 13); and how to behave as a
Christian (Romans 12).
Hebrews 12:1-2: Lay aside every weight.
Misconception in the Lord’s church is that I’ve
done all these things, so I’ve earned heaven.
The price is paid and has been earned, but not by
us. It’s been paid by our Savior, Jesus Christ!
