2. God’s Special People
How does it make you feel when you receive a
compliment?
Look at how God describes us in I Peter 2:9-10.
“Chosen generation”, “royal priesthood”, “holy
nation” and “special people.”
The doctrine of election (I Peter 1:1-2).
Remember when you were on the winning side of a
pick-up basketball or baseball game?
As a Christian, we are on the winning team and
God is our captain.

3. God’s Special People
Elect: Foreknowledge of God the Father
 God’s election is based on foreknowledge.
 II Tim. 1:9: Grace is God’s unearned favor.
 Romans 8:28-30: God has known about us since
before time began.
Elect: Sanctification of the Spirit
 Sanctification: To be set apart for a holy use.
 I Peter 1:22-25; John 17:16-19; II Thess. 2:13;
II Tim. 2:20-21, 3:14-17; II Peter 1:20-21.
 Studying Scripture makes a Christian proficient.

4. God’s Special People
Elect: Obedience, Sprinkling of Jesus’ blood
 We are not chosen to stand around idly. We are
chosen to work and obey.

Elect: Pilgrims and Sojourners
 Live in the world, but not of the world (John 17:15-
16; I Peter 2:11-12).

 Keep our eyes focused on heaven (Col. 3:1-2).
