  1. 1. •Have you ever heard a five secondsermon?•This lesson has nothing to do with theseconds hand on your clock, but fivedifferent seconds that are mentioned inthe Bible.•Let us be diligent and learn aboutthese 5 Bible seconds!
  2. 2. The Second Man – 1 Cor. 15:47•The first man was Adam… 1 Corinthians 15:45•He brought death. 1 Cor. 15:22•“The second man is the Lord from heaven”•It is Jesus! John 1:14; 6:38; Phil. 3:20•He brought life! 1 Cor. 15:22; 1 John 5:11•A second chance for eternal life. Rom.6:23; Heb.5:9
  3. 3. The Second Covenant•The first covenant was the Law of Moses.Hebrews 8:4-5, 7•The second covenant is the Law of Christ.Heb. 9:14-15, 18-20; Matt. 26:28; Gal. 6:2•Jesus is the mediator of it. Hebrews 8:6•An everlasting covenant. Isa. 55:3; Heb. 13:20
  4. 4. The Second Covenant•It came into force after Christ’s death.Hebrews 9:15-17•This covenant sanctifies us! Heb. 10:9-10•It is a better covenant Heb. 7:22 because it isestablished on better promises Heb. 8:6, it hasbetter sacrifices Heb. 9:23 and brings a betterhope! Hebrews 7:19
  5. 5. The Second Commandment•It’s the second greatest one. Matthew 22:39•We must do no ill to our neighbor.Romans 13:8-10•When we obey this command, we fulfill the law.James 2:8-9•This commandment was demonstrated by thegood Samaritan. Luke 10:25-37
  6. 6. The Second Coming•Christ first came to seek and to save the lost.Luke 19:10; 1 Jn. 4:9-14•He promised to come again. John 14:1-3•He shall come as he left. Acts 1:9-11•Christ will come unexpectedly. Mark 13:32•He will reward the faithful and punish thedisobedient! Matthew 16:27; 2 Thes. 1:6-9
  7. 7. The Second Death•The Bible speaks often about the second death.Romans 6:23; Revelation 2:11; 20:6, 14•This is describing an eternal separation from Godin a place of torment. Matthew 25:30, 41, 46;2 Thessalonians 1:9•Note some types of people who will experiencethe second death. Revelation 21:8
