 Before we claim to be anything else, we are a
Christian first and foremost.
 Be a responsible Christian.
 My salvation is in my hands (Phil. 2:12-13;
Matt. 6:33).
 My sins are my own (Rom. 3:23).
 My relationship with God is up to me (Heb.
13:5).
 Teaching others the gospel is up to me (Matt.
28:18-20; Acts 8:30).
 Be a happy person.
 And why shouldn’t we be?
◦ Our sins are forgiven.
◦ We are children of God.
◦ We have an intimate relationship with the Creator.
◦ We have a home waiting for us in heaven.
 We should want the world to see how wonderful
it is to be a Christian.
 Even when life is hard (Matt. 5:3-12).
 Be persistent.
 Our goals and objectives are different from
those who are in the world.
 Our ultimate goal is to go to heaven (Phil.
3:13-14).
 This world is not our home.
 We must be confident: “Yes, I am going to
heaven!”
 Satan is our enemy and will make our life hard (I
Pet. 5:8).
 Be a person of action.
 In the church, everyone is part of the action.
 God has given us talents to use, so let’s use
them!
 Teach the gospel.
 Let your light shine (Matt. 5:16).
 Grow (II Pet. 1:5-7).
 We cannot sit on the sidelines and watch.
 We, as Christians, are a people of action.
