Labelling
1. Marking/Labelling NPOP & IMO IN OS
For operations in India, the mark/Label should state 1) the name &
address of the last processor, 2) certification status (“organic” or “organic
in conversion”) 3)India Organic Logo and 4) NPOP/NAB/003 and/or IMO
IN logo. Please apply to IMO IN to obtain license to use India Organic
Logo.
For operators certified under IMO IN OS certification, the mark/Label
should state 1) the name & address of the last handler, 2) certification
status (“organic” ) 3) the ISO country code of operator-BIO-147, 4 (
optional) the European Communitylogo and Non EU Agriculture
Marking/Labelling COR
Products labelled as ‘organic’ should contain atleast 95% ingredients certified
as ‘organic’. Term organic, Canada Organic logo and name of IMO should be
present. 100% claim should not be made.
The use of the Canada Organic Logo is voluntary. The statement "Productof"
shall immediately precede the name of the country of origin or the statement
"imported" is mustbe in close proximity to the logo on imported products
which bear the Canada Organic Logo.
Products certified to the US-Canada Organic Equivalence Arrangementmay
bear either or both logos (Canada Organic logo and USDA logo) provided the
organic content of the productis 95% or greater.
Products labelled as ‘contains x% organic ingredients’ should contain 70% to
95% ingredients certified as ‘organic’ (ingredients without salt and water).
Term ‘organic’ and Canada Organic logo should not be used. Name of IMO
should be present.
Products with less than 70% organic ingredients, organic ingredients should
only identified as organic in ingredient list Reference to term organic, Canada
Organic logo and IMO nameshould not made.
