Joan Miró was a Spanish painter born in Barcelona in 1893. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a painter. He studied art at the Academy of Art in Barcelona when he was 14. At age 25, he had his first exhibition in Barcelona displaying 64 paintings. He became famous and traveled to Paris where he met important artists and showed them his work. He married Pilar Juncosa in 1929 and they had a daughter named Dolores. Miró continued painting and traveling around the world. In his later years, he lived in Mallorca where he had a studio and created a magical world with his art. He founded the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in 1981, donating many of his paintings and
