Augmented reality
Banks have started using augmented reality apps to allow customers to locate nearby ATMs and branches, check balances, and conduct transactions. Some apps work by placing a registered debit or credit card under a smartphone camera to view account information in 3D. Augmented reality provides potential benefits to banking, such as issuing vouchers through apps that customers can collect and redeem at stores.

ABSTRACT:
Verification of paper documents is an important part of checking
a person’s identity, authorization for access or simply establishing
a trusted currency. Many documents such as passports or paper
bills include holograms or other view-dependent elements that are
difficult to forge and therefore are used to verify the genuineness
of that document. View-dependent elements change their appearance
based both on the viewing direction as well as dominant light
sources, thus it requires special knowledge and training to accurately
distinguish original elements from forgeries. We present an
interactive application for mobile devices that integrates the recognition
of the documents with the interactive verification of viewdependent
elements. The system recognizes and tracks the paper
document, provides user guidance for view alignment and presents
a stored image of the element’s appearance depending on the current
view of the document also recording user decisions. We describe
how to model and capture the underlying spatially varying
BRDF representation of view-dependent elements. Furthermore,
we evaluate this approach within a user study and demonstrate that
such a setup captures images that are recognizable and that can be
correctly verified.

Achatina fulica snails from two environments (Natural and Breeding) were subjected to two diets, one based on green fodder and the other based in the form of concentrate flour in order to evaluate linear growth. Thus, at the end of this study, we testify that Achatina fulica in the natural environment as well as in the breeding environment has a lower linear growth at the level of l/w; l/h relationship. Then, it grows less in width and height than in length. However, in terms of the height-width relationship, the linear growth is greater in the breeding environment than in the natural environment where Achatina fulica has a lower growth. With regard to weight growth, it should be testified that Achatina fulica generally gains less weight than it grows in length regardless of environment, either in natural environment or in breeding environment where snails are fed on concentrate.

Biochar a boon
The document summarizes a study conducted by Ankur Scientific Energy Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on the effect of biochar on agricultural crop yields. The study found that:
1) Applying biochar in combination with nitrogen fertilizer to wheat crops led to increased plant heights, ear lengths, grain weights, yields, and harvest index compared to chemical fertilizers or no fertilization.
2) Replacing phosphorus fertilizer with biochar was found to save on fertilizer costs while maintaining soil productivity and crop yields.
3) Similar results were obtained when testing biochar on maize crops, and the findings are expected to apply to improving yields for most crops.

Proximate, Mineral and Anti-Nutrient Evaluation of Pumpkin Pulp (Cucurbita Pepo)
Abstract: Proximate, minerals and anti-nutritional concentration of Pumpkin pulp (Cucurbita pepo) were investigated using standard analytical methods as stipulated by AOAC (1990), Agte el al; (1995), Chapman and Pratt, (1961), Kadhakrishna and Sivaprasad (1980), Nelson (1968),Day and underwood, (1986). The proximate composition (%) showed that pumpkin pulp contained Total ash 15.988 ± 0.10, Moisture 0.532 ± 0.10, Fat extract 2.300 ± 0.01 Crude fibre 11.463 ± 0.10, Crude protein 3.070 ± 0.01 and Carbohydrate by difference 66.647 ± 0.01% .The mineral element were Mg, Ca, Mn, Fe, Cu, Pb, Ni and P with values of 189.91 ± 0.2, 179.01 ± 0.2, 0.502 ± 0.1, 1.370 ± 0.1, 3.910 ± 0.1, 0.290 ± 0.1, 0.110 ± o.1 and 11.83 ± 0.2 mg/kg respectively also Na and K with values of 159.01 ± 0.2 and K 160.31 ± 0.1 mg/l00kg were estimated using Flame Emission spectrophotometer. The anti-nutritional analysis of pumpkin pulp gives Phytates 0.618 ± 0.100mgl100kg, Oxalates 16.297 ± 0.100 mg/100kg and Tannins 0.358 ± 0.100 mg/100kg. The results obtained above goes a long way to proof that pumpkin pulp is highly nutritious and at the same time can be used as food formulation for infant due to its nutritional composition.

Review on Biogas Production in Nigeria
One of the greatest challenges facing the Nigerian societies now and in the future is the reduction of green
house gas emissions, energy generation, power supply and thus preventing the climate change. It is therefore necessary
to look for an alternative with renewable and recycling sources, such as biogas. Biogas can be produced from various
organic waste streams or as a byproduct from industrial processes. Beside energy production, the degradation of
organic waste through anaerobic digestion offers other advantages, such as the prevention of odor release and the
decrease of pathogens. Moreover, the nutrient rich digested residues can be utilized as fertilizer for recycling the
nutrients back to the fields. However, the amount of organic materials currently available for biogas production is
limited and new substrates as well as new effective technologies are therefore needed to facilitate the growth of the
biogas industry all over the world. Hence, major developments have been made during the last decades regarding the
utilization of lignocelluloses biomass, the development of high rate systems and the application of membrane
technologies within the anaerobic digestion process in order to overcome the shortcomings encountered. The
degradation of organic material requires a synchronized action of different groups of microorganisms with different
metabolic capacities. Recent developments in molecular biology techniques have provided the research community
with a valuable tool for improved understanding of this complex microbiological system, which in turn could help
optimize and control the process in an effective way in the future.

This study evaluated the effect of mineral and organic fertilization on some agronomic parameters of cassava nursery plants Bocou 1 and Yavo (Manihot esculenta Crantz). For this purpose, 1200 cassava plants were produced on 10 substrates based on soil supplemented with chicken droppings, sawdust, carbonized rice husks and NPK 10 18 18. The trial was conducted in a completely randomized Fisher block design on two 880 m2 subplots 6 m apart. The planting density was 1 m x 1 m with three replications per treatment, i.e. 600 plants per cassava variety. The manures used were chicken manure, charred rice husks and NPK 10-18. Results showed that treatments T2S6 (T2: Carbonized rice husks; S6: Substrate 6) and T2S3 (T2: Carbonized rice husks; S3: Substrate 3) induced better plant growth than the other treatments for the two cassava varieties studied. The highest yields were obtained with treatments T3S2 (T3: NPK 10 18 18; S2: Substrate 2) (456.83 t/ha) and T2S8 (T2: Carbonized rice husks; S8: Substrate 8) (423.25 t/ha) at Bocou 1 and Yavo, respectively. The results of this study will help optimize cassava production in Côte d’Ivoire and improve the purchasing power and livings standard of producers.

Proximate, Mineral and Anti-Nutrient Evaluation of Pumpkin Pulp (Cucurbita Pepo)
Abstract: Proximate, minerals and anti-nutritional concentration of Pumpkin pulp (Cucurbita pepo) were investigated using standard analytical methods as stipulated by AOAC (1990), Agte el al; (1995), Chapman and Pratt, (1961), Kadhakrishna and Sivaprasad (1980), Nelson (1968),Day and underwood, (1986). The proximate composition (%) showed that pumpkin pulp contained Total ash 15.988 ± 0.10, Moisture 0.532 ± 0.10, Fat extract 2.300 ± 0.01 Crude fibre 11.463 ± 0.10, Crude protein 3.070 ± 0.01 and Carbohydrate by difference 66.647 ± 0.01% .The mineral element were Mg, Ca, Mn, Fe, Cu, Pb, Ni and P with values of 189.91 ± 0.2, 179.01 ± 0.2, 0.502 ± 0.1, 1.370 ± 0.1, 3.910 ± 0.1, 0.290 ± 0.1, 0.110 ± o.1 and 11.83 ± 0.2 mg/kg respectively also Na and K with values of 159.01 ± 0.2 and K 160.31 ± 0.1 mg/l00kg were estimated using Flame Emission spectrophotometer. The anti-nutritional analysis of pumpkin pulp gives Phytates 0.618 ± 0.100mgl100kg, Oxalates 16.297 ± 0.100 mg/100kg and Tannins 0.358 ± 0.100 mg/100kg. The results obtained above goes a long way to proof that pumpkin pulp is highly nutritious and at the same time can be used as food formulation for infant due to its nutritional composition.

house gas emissions, energy generation, power supply and thus preventing the climate change. It is therefore necessary
to look for an alternative with renewable and recycling sources, such as biogas. Biogas can be produced from various
organic waste streams or as a byproduct from industrial processes. Beside energy production, the degradation of
organic waste through anaerobic digestion offers other advantages, such as the prevention of odor release and the
decrease of pathogens. Moreover, the nutrient rich digested residues can be utilized as fertilizer for recycling the
nutrients back to the fields. However, the amount of organic materials currently available for biogas production is
limited and new substrates as well as new effective technologies are therefore needed to facilitate the growth of the
biogas industry all over the world. Hence, major developments have been made during the last decades regarding the
utilization of lignocelluloses biomass, the development of high rate systems and the application of membrane
technologies within the anaerobic digestion process in order to overcome the shortcomings encountered. The
degradation of organic material requires a synchronized action of different groups of microorganisms with different
metabolic capacities. Recent developments in molecular biology techniques have provided the research community
with a valuable tool for improved understanding of this complex microbiological system, which in turn could help
optimize and control the process in an effective way in the future.

This study evaluated the effect of mineral and organic fertilization on some agronomic parameters of cassava nursery plants Bocou 1 and Yavo (Manihot esculenta Crantz). For this purpose, 1200 cassava plants were produced on 10 substrates based on soil supplemented with chicken droppings, sawdust, carbonized rice husks and NPK 10 18 18. The trial was conducted in a completely randomized Fisher block design on two 880 m2 subplots 6 m apart. The planting density was 1 m x 1 m with three replications per treatment, i.e. 600 plants per cassava variety. The manures used were chicken manure, charred rice husks and NPK 10-18. Results showed that treatments T2S6 (T2: Carbonized rice husks; S6: Substrate 6) and T2S3 (T2: Carbonized rice husks; S3: Substrate 3) induced better plant growth than the other treatments for the two cassava varieties studied. The highest yields were obtained with treatments T3S2 (T3: NPK 10 18 18; S2: Substrate 2) (456.83 t/ha) and T2S8 (T2: Carbonized rice husks; S8: Substrate 8) (423.25 t/ha) at Bocou 1 and Yavo, respectively. The results of this study will help optimize cassava production in Côte d’Ivoire and improve the purchasing power and livings standard of producers.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
