This document evaluates and compares the mobile assessment software Socrative and Poll Everywhere. Both programs received positive reviews for being easy to use and providing immediate feedback. Socrative is recommended for K-12 classrooms as it is compatible with devices schools provide and supports up to 50 students. Poll Everywhere supports more participants and is better for college and business settings where attendees have their own devices. Overall, both are useful assessment tools, but Socrative is more suitable for typical K-12 classrooms while Poll Everywhere can accommodate larger groups.

I would use this software for exit tickets and quick answer
quizzes after a lesson. This type of software is great for
educational purposes which would intrigued students in their
learning.

software and their general evaluation:
A colleague of mine, who is a seventh grade mathematics
teacher uses Socrative for each of its components. She will
create short quizzes, exit tickets, and even use it for
attendance. She states the best part is the results options it
gives you. Each result is then saved into your account for later
use.

A goal I have in using this software is for students retention in
their learning. Throughout lectures or even activities, students
could be given an question to answer to recall a certain item of
the lesson. In addition, in group activities, students would have
to answer a question after each part of the activity they
complete to assess their knowledge.

All the reviews on the Poll everywhere website are very
positive and I completely agree. It is very easy to create a
customized poll and get users to contribute in many different
ways of their choice.

11. RECOMMENDATIONS
Viewing the pros and cons of these two software’s, you can identify
both are a very useful software in receiving mobile assessments.
With that said, I would recommend them both but in different settings
or based on what your goal is.
Socrative is great for educational settings in K-12 grades. The
application could already be set up on tablets the school is available
to. Students could be assessed through homework, quizzes, or exit
tickets.
Poll Everywhere is great for educational and business settings. I can
see this being used more in college and business workshops
because the use of larger number of participants. Participants in
these settings could easily access it by having a computer, tablet or
mobile device readily available to them.
