The document discusses whether to use Scrum or a more comprehensive Agile approach like AgilePM for managing projects. It analyzes Scrum and finds it lacks governance layers, business roles, holistic solutions, and tailoring tools. AgilePM is presented as having clear ownership, roles at all levels, a focus on evolving solutions, and business case/benefit guidance. The document encourages moving from Scrum to AgilePM to gain recognized certification, professional language skills, and the ability to recognize true Agile approaches versus false interpretations.
The document discusses how agile and traditional project management frameworks can be used together. It presents an overview of agile principles and compares the project management process groups of traditional and agile approaches. While their techniques differ, the knowledge areas of the PMBOK Guide still apply to both. The document advocates that organizations assess their readiness and a project's suitability before adopting agile practices. Earned value can provide metrics for agile projects if story points are used as the unit of measurement.

Agile approaches continue to increase in popularity in the world of project management. A range of popular Agile methods have been employed to varying degrees by organizations to support their project management practices.
But few of them offer a complete project management solution (e.g. covering the full project lifecycle, roles & responsibilities, etc).
AgilePM guidance – published by the Agile Business Consortium – offers a complete framework for agile project management, achieving an ideal balance between the standards, rigour and visibility required for good project management, and the fast-pace, change and empowerment provided by agile.
And it’s proving very popular. Since it’s introduction in 2010, over 80,000 AgilePM exams have been sat globally, making it the leading guidance and certification for agile project management.
During this webinar, Antony Perrett (lead AgilePM instructor for Learning Tree International) will delve into the guidance, outlining the key features that make it a complete framework for successful agile projects.
The document provides an overview of the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification exam. It discusses that the exam tests a candidate's knowledge of project management processes and terms as well as their ability to apply processes and formulas. It also outlines the exam structure, including the 200 multiple choice questions, 4 hour time limit, and passing score of 61%. Additionally, the document reviews the eligibility requirements, application process, costs, and continuing education units required to maintain the PMP® certification.

Li kai roll-out scrum in an intel organizationOdd-e
This document outlines a plan to roll out Scrum in an Intel organization. It discusses establishing a mindset ready for change, transforming the lifecycle from waterfall to iterative development, and implementing a strategic roll out. Key steps include getting top-down support, using simple tools during pilots, and selecting sponsors who support empowering employees. Challenges may include metrics differences, but benefits could be releasing working software earlier and increasing alignment with changing needs. The goal is to start transforming the organization to be more agile.
This document provides an overview of how to implement Scrum in a business. It discusses determining if Scrum is the right approach, building the proper Scrum team with roles like the Product Owner and Scrum Master, getting prepared with requirements and tools, and starting the process with sprints and iterations. Common pitfalls of Scrum implementations are also addressed, such as mixing roles or having outsourced teams, and how consultants can help with training, tools, and integrating Scrum into existing processes.
The document discusses various scaled agile project management frameworks like LeSS, SAFe, DAD, and DSDM. It summarizes findings from a white paper on adopting these approaches which found that the mindset is more important than the specific method. Organizations need to determine what fits their purpose and rely on experienced teams to decide on the appropriate blend of techniques. Training, multi-skilling teams, and ensuring strategic alignment are also important for successful adoption of agile project management.
Agile Scrum is a collaborative project management methodology focused on short releases and delivering working software at the end of each release that provides immediate value. It is based on values like honesty, transparency, and collaboration. Key practices include short sprints, daily stand-ups, product backlogs to track work, and emphasizing working software over documentation.

This document discusses principles and practices for scaling agile approaches in organizations. It begins by introducing Josef Scherer as an agile management consultant with experience helping large companies adopt scaled agile frameworks. It then poses questions to consider when scaling agile, such as goals, the type of scaling needed, and potential practices. The document outlines vertical and horizontal scaling and describes scaled roles, artifacts, and events in the Scaled Agile Framework. It also discusses scaling practices at Spotify, including feature teams and microservice architecture. Finally, it emphasizes that principles are more important than practices when scaling and should drive autonomy through purpose and motivation.
This document provides guidance on project management procedures. It was written by Dr. Andrew Kimmance, who has over 30 years of experience in civil engineering, construction, and project management. The document outlines the typical phases of a project life cycle, including initiation, planning, execution, and closure. It provides tips and templates to help project managers successfully initiate projects, develop plans, manage risks, and deliver projects on time and on budget. The goal is to give practical advice to help organizations of any size effectively manage their projects.
Professional Project Manager Should Be Proficient in AgileNitor
This document discusses the benefits of being proficient in Agile project management. It begins with an introduction of the presenter and their experience in IT projects. It then contrasts the Waterfall and Agile approaches. Waterfall involves detailed upfront planning while Agile values adaptability and frequent delivery of working software. The document emphasizes that due to global competition, it is not enough to simply complete a project but to exceed expectations and adapt quickly. It provides examples of how companies like Nitor have seen success through Agile methods and discusses key Agile principles like small batch sizes and effective communication.
This document discusses patterns and anti-patterns for adopting agile practices. It provides examples of alternative adoption strategies like training, pilot projects, and outsourcing agile projects. Key patterns for a successful pilot project include engaging experienced agile experts, selecting a critical project, establishing a dedicated team, and empowering the Scrum Master. Common anti-patterns are failing to engage sponsors, not having retrospectives, and separating functions rather than co-locating cross-functional teams.
Asset finance system project initiation 101. “Selecting and implementing a new asset finance system? We welcome comments and would be happy to help you get your project off to a good start.
This document provides an overview of a seminar on PRINCE2Agile. The seminar objectives are to provide insight into what PRINCE2Agile will and will not cover. It aims to explain how PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies can be blended, playing to the strengths of each. Guidance is given on areas that can be tailored when combining PRINCE2 processes with Agile behaviors and techniques. The document emphasizes that PRINCE2Agile guidance shows how to integrate Agile ways of working into existing PRINCE2 practices.
This document discusses agile adoption in real world contexts. It emphasizes that agile adoption takes time, typically 3-5 years, and requires executive commitment. Common pitfalls include terminology abuse and an overreliance on user stories without considering other requirements. Automating processes through continuous integration is important for agile development. While agile principles have remained relevant, some argue the manifesto could be updated to reflect a greater focus on learning and customer empathy over just responding to change. The presentation concludes with questions about bringing change to companies, encouraging reluctant employees, and measuring agile maturity.
The document discusses how a PMO can support agile development teams. It outlines that while agile teams focus on rapid delivery and value over documentation, the PMO can still play an important role by handling administrative tasks, coordinating resources across teams, and reporting at a high level to remove burdens from individual teams. The PMO monitors progress through daily standups and sprint reviews rather than static reports, and tracks issues and dependencies across teams rather than detailed logs. This allows agile teams to operate with flexibility while the PMO provides oversight at a program level.

Unlocking the mysteries of reproduction: Exploring fecundity and gonadosomati...AbdullaAlAsif1
The pygmy halfbeak Dermogenys colletei, is known for its viviparous nature, this presents an intriguing case of relatively low fecundity, raising questions about potential compensatory reproductive strategies employed by this species. Our study delves into the examination of fecundity and the Gonadosomatic Index (GSI) in the Pygmy Halfbeak, D. colletei (Meisner, 2001), an intriguing viviparous fish indigenous to Sarawak, Borneo. We hypothesize that the Pygmy halfbeak, D. colletei, may exhibit unique reproductive adaptations to offset its low fecundity, thus enhancing its survival and fitness. To address this, we conducted a comprehensive study utilizing 28 mature female specimens of D. colletei, carefully measuring fecundity and GSI to shed light on the reproductive adaptations of this species. Our findings reveal that D. colletei indeed exhibits low fecundity, with a mean of 16.76 ± 2.01, and a mean GSI of 12.83 ± 1.27, providing crucial insights into the reproductive mechanisms at play in this species. These results underscore the existence of unique reproductive strategies in D. colletei, enabling its adaptation and persistence in Borneo's diverse aquatic ecosystems, and call for further ecological research to elucidate these mechanisms. This study lends to a better understanding of viviparous fish in Borneo and contributes to the broader field of aquatic ecology, enhancing our knowledge of species adaptations to unique ecological challenges.
Describing and Interpreting an Immersive Learning Case with the Immersion Cub...Leonel Morgado
Current descriptions of immersive learning cases are often difficult or impossible to compare. This is due to a myriad of different options on what details to include, which aspects are relevant, and on the descriptive approaches employed. Also, these aspects often combine very specific details with more general guidelines or indicate intents and rationales without clarifying their implementation. In this paper we provide a method to describe immersive learning cases that is structured to enable comparisons, yet flexible enough to allow researchers and practitioners to decide which aspects to include. This method leverages a taxonomy that classifies educational aspects at three levels (uses, practices, and strategies) and then utilizes two frameworks, the Immersive Learning Brain and the Immersion Cube, to enable a structured description and interpretation of immersive learning cases. The method is then demonstrated on a published immersive learning case on training for wind turbine maintenance using virtual reality. Applying the method results in a structured artifact, the Immersive Learning Case Sheet, that tags the case with its proximal uses, practices, and strategies, and refines the free text case description to ensure that matching details are included. This contribution is thus a case description method in support of future comparative research of immersive learning cases. We then discuss how the resulting description and interpretation can be leveraged to change immersion learning cases, by enriching them (considering low-effort changes or additions) or innovating (exploring more challenging avenues of transformation). The method holds significant promise to support better-grounded research in immersive learning.

ESR spectroscopy in liquid food and beverages.pptxPRIYANKA PATEL
With increasing population, people need to rely on packaged food stuffs. Packaging of food materials requires the preservation of food. There are various methods for the treatment of food to preserve them and irradiation treatment of food is one of them. It is the most common and the most harmless method for the food preservation as it does not alter the necessary micronutrients of food materials. Although irradiated food doesn’t cause any harm to the human health but still the quality assessment of food is required to provide consumers with necessary information about the food. ESR spectroscopy is the most sophisticated way to investigate the quality of the food and the free radicals induced during the processing of the food. ESR spin trapping technique is useful for the detection of highly unstable radicals in the food. The antioxidant capability of liquid food and beverages in mainly performed by spin trapping technique.
The use of Nauplii and metanauplii artemia in aquaculture (brine shrimp).pptxMAGOTI ERNEST
Although Artemia has been known to man for centuries, its use as a food for the culture of larval organisms apparently began only in the 1930s, when several investigators found that it made an excellent food for newly hatched fish larvae (Litvinenko et al., 2023). As aquaculture developed in the 1960s and ‘70s, the use of Artemia also became more widespread, due both to its convenience and to its nutritional value for larval organisms (Arenas-Pardo et al., 2024). The fact that Artemia dormant cysts can be stored for long periods in cans, and then used as an off-the-shelf food requiring only 24 h of incubation makes them the most convenient, least labor-intensive, live food available for aquaculture (Sorgeloos & Roubach, 2021). The nutritional value of Artemia, especially for marine organisms, is not constant, but varies both geographically and temporally. During the last decade, however, both the causes of Artemia nutritional variability and methods to improve poorquality Artemia have been identified (Loufi et al., 2024).
Brine shrimp (Artemia spp.) are used in marine aquaculture worldwide. Annually, more than 2,000 metric tons of dry cysts are used for cultivation of fish, crustacean, and shellfish larva. Brine shrimp are important to aquaculture because newly hatched brine shrimp nauplii (larvae) provide a food source for many fish fry (Mozanzadeh et al., 2021). Culture and harvesting of brine shrimp eggs represents another aspect of the aquaculture industry. Nauplii and metanauplii of Artemia, commonly known as brine shrimp, play a crucial role in aquaculture due to their nutritional value and suitability as live feed for many aquatic species, particularly in larval stages (Sorgeloos & Roubach, 2021).
Or: Beyond linear.
Abstract: Equivariant neural networks are neural networks that incorporate symmetries. The nonlinear activation functions in these networks result in interesting nonlinear equivariant maps between simple representations, and motivate the key player of this talk: piecewise linear representation theory.

Travis Hills' Endeavors in Minnesota: Fostering Environmental and Economic Pr...Travis Hills MN
Travis Hills of Minnesota developed a method to convert waste into high-value dry fertilizer, significantly enriching soil quality. By providing farmers with a valuable resource derived from waste, Travis Hills helps enhance farm profitability while promoting environmental stewardship. Travis Hills' sustainable practices lead to cost savings and increased revenue for farmers by improving resource efficiency and reducing waste.
Current Ms word generated power point presentation covers major details about the micronuclei test. It's significance and assays to conduct it. It is used to detect the micronuclei formation inside the cells of nearly every multicellular organism. It's formation takes place during chromosomal sepration at metaphase.

To Scrum or to Agile?

The quality of a question is not judged by its complexity but by the complexity of thinking it provokes.

Editor's Notes
Explain that portfolio-team levels are multifunctional and require collaboration while production may involve people of the same expertise (e.g. IT).
Output is a deliverable, specialist product.
Capability is an ability for an organisation to deliver benefits. A capability consists of:
Business processes
People
Physical assets
Information.
Capability Enablement is the act making a capability available for regular operational use by an organisation so that capability is, in fact 'live'.
Outcome is the result of a change derived from the capability in operational use.
Benefit is the measurable improvement resulting from an outcome perceived as an advantage by one or more stakeholders, which contributes towards one or more organisational objectives(s).
Discuss the relation between all those parameters:
A change in the is likely to influence time, quality, scope
Quality problems would influence all parameters
There might be a chance for early introduction of tolerances.
In the Waterfall we try not to come back to the phases delivered. Usually the final solution goes to the operational usage before the end of the project. The teams in the traditional approach is likely to compete, blame.
In the agile approach we have iterations and increments. Interim solutions goes to the operational usage frequently (as we want to have early benefits). The teams integrate business and technical roles that are supposed to cooperate and not to fight.
Say we will focus on what is done by the project manager.
Explain to the students that we are taking all the best from AgilePM and AgileBA handbooks.
Indicate we have project level roles and Solution Development Team roles.
