Virtual classrooms allow for teaching and learning when the teacher and students are separated by time, space, or both. Teachers provide course content through course management applications, multimedia resources, the internet, videoconferencing, and other technologies. Students receive content and communicate with teachers via the same technologies. Virtual classrooms aim to provide a stimulating learning environment for students while allowing educators to experiment with new learning spaces. Evaluating virtual classrooms considers their accessibility, costs, teaching and learning functions, interactivity, ease of use, and speed of content creation and distribution.
