Differentiated instruction is teaching in a way that meets the individual needs of each learner by adjusting how the curriculum is presented. Teachers can differentiate through flexible grouping, guided reading groups, and learning centers that provide remedial or enrichment activities depending on students' needs. For example, in kindergarten learning centers include a writing center, computer center, listening center, word work center, math center, and sight words center. Guided reading groups students by ability level and the teacher works with each group weekly to develop reading strategies and skills.
