5. Challenges
Saxon E-Competence Certificate
Sample of problems to cope with:
Project members are distributed in different places.
Project members have different skills and abilities.
Fluctuation of project members during the 35 months.
In SECo we want to produce consistent learning modules
which look like they were build by just one single author.
Key to success: Standardization

10. Solutions: Organisation
Saxon E-Competence Certificate
The ARIS eEPK process model (10 basic
steps) gives an overview over:
logical sequence
responsibilities
software resources
guidelines
templates
The model is continously refined and specified
and provides a common understanding of basic
processes in the SECo project to all project
members.

Saxon E-Competence Certificate
The Effort Calculation
Scheme supports the
author to determine a valid
mix of media in order to
meet:
the given learning time
the given production effort
the given basic mix of
content
The scheme uses standard
values of production effort
and learning time per media
unit for the determination of
the total values. It is an
interactive scheme.

12. Conclusions
Saxon E-Competence Certificate
The developed tools and methods are essential for the production of
standardized learning modules in SECo.
The intermediate results shown in this presentation are just development
snap-shots.
They are permanently refined during further project work.
Nevertheless they raise a remarkable public interest in Saxony and are
used in other production projects.
Presently the concept for module review is worked out.
First module-based evaluation results will be available at the end of May.
