KlasCement is a social network and portal for teachers to exchange learning objects and best practices. It aims to stimulate cooperation between educators by allowing users to generate and share content, as well as communicate. The portal has over 67,000 users who can search, view, download, reuse and comment on the 26,350 learning objects uploaded by teachers. KlasCement also features forums, newsletters and other tools to connect educators. Quality is ensured through moderation and crowd-sourcing of reviews, and the bottom-up user-generated model has made it successful in Belgium and Netherlands.
