Keratosis pilaris (KP), commonly known as "chicken skin", is a harmless skin condition characterized by rough, small bumps on the skin caused by a buildup of keratin in hair follicles. KP typically appears as small, rough, red or white bumps located on the upper arms and thighs. While there is no cure, treatments can help soothe symptoms and reduce appearance through moisturizers, gentle exfoliation, and laser hair removal. KP is a very common condition affecting up to 50-80% of adolescents and 40% of adults worldwide.
